Very disappointed with the Original fish tacos plate. The fish was half the size of the tortilla. I made one taco of the two that came in the plate. The chips that came with the plate were crumbs. The Taco shop close by sells the same plate with rice and bean for the same price. Their fish fills the whole tortilla and has a real San Felipe flavor.
Everyone had told me how great this place was. I was eating with 4 other family members, (3 locals and another out of towner who swore by it. We ordered the family taco fish kit with two extra tacos and extra sauces. Picked it up and it looked like everything was there. Some fish was in an extra container so all looked good with out opening all containers. Get back to house and extra tacos and sauce were not there. Called and they apologized and said they forgot to give us the extra bag sitting in to go area as she had found it. They compensated for their mistake and all was fine with ordering part.Now for the fish supplied to make your own taco. It was a good looking piece until you bit into it. Heavily breaded and had less fish than a fish stick. There was no fish flavor at all and 90% breading. Beans, rice and guacamole was good so they moved from 1 star to 2. Probably really a 2.5.
Would not allow us to order without masks. It’s fine though lots of other places to eat that don’t discriminate at this mall.
I've been eating at & loving Rubio's since they had only one location on Mission Bay Dr (the first & best!). Ate @ the Grossmont Mall location on Tuesday and was very disappointed. The staff was very rude & unprofessional, the iced tea had big fat fruit flies (10-12 of them!) buzzing around & inside the dispenser, and not only were our fish tacos mushy, they were tasteless. I was grossed out and disappointed with so many factors I doubt I'll ever go back!
Terrible customer service. I ordered a meal via the Rubios app and was given a pick up time of 30 mins even though I only less than 5 mins from the store. The order never came. I called over ten times to the number located on the website but no one answered. So I drove to the store because my girlfriend is pregnant and was craving rubios. I explained the situation of how my meal was never delivered although in the app it showed as delivered. I spoke with Valerie, an assistant manager at the time, she refused to make the order again for me as it was almost closing time and she stated they were backed up. I asked for a refund which she would do, but she wouldn’t give me a receipt to show that I was refunded the amount I paid. She said that I would have to take her work for it. That was the first time I have ever been told that. I paid for something and never received it but I was supposed to take their work I would get a refund. While I am begging to get some type of verification that I would be refunded. Daniel and Angel the cook started to stare me down in an attempt to likely intimidate me. I am not easily intimidated and called them out. Valerie was trying to be helpful at this point but both Angel and Daniel were trying to make me feel intimidated. At this time a couple came in and ordered food. To my amazement they were still taking orders and gave that couple food, but for me I was told that they were too backed up to remake my order…. Why is that? Why was I discriminated upon and not respected enough to have my order taken, especially after they did not deliver my meal and I had to dive to the store?? The girl who took the order originally was also rude, after she realized I was upset, she was not trying to help and talk over her manager in order to tell me I was wrong. In the end I never got my meal. I had to take a screenshot of the refund as they would not provide a receipt as proof that my money was refunded and I had to wait at a different restaurant in order to eat. They took my money, didn’t deliver my food, did not answer any of the calls so I could ask for them to make it and I could pick up, they were rude when I attempted to get a refund and Daniel and Angel who stated he was a manager was rude and attempting to intimidate. Angel stated I was being a F***ing D**k at one point after. What kind of place is this. I will never come back and if you like being respected I would suggest you do not give this place your business.
Walked up to the counter and instead of a pleasant greeting was met with, “ Your order will take 25 minutes”. I said okay, no problem. While waiting, went in the bathroom with my 5 yr old grandchild to find an overflowing toilet and water and trash all over the floor. Got home 30 minutes away to find my son’s blackened salmon burrito plate left out of my order. Most expensive item in a large order. Now will have to go back and somehow prove I deserve my money back for the missing entree.Very disappointing experience. I do understand good/any employees are hard to find right now.
We ordered food from the above location this evening. Your intermediary online delivery service Door Dash (that is thru Rubios, so we could not contact) did not deliver the entire order for my family. We have been fully charged for a meal we did not receive. We attempted to reach out to your Grossmont store to find out where the second bag of our food went and your team failed to answer our call after 11 continuous attempts. This has truly been an awful experience. We have been San Diego residents close to 30 years and Rubio's has always been a great go to place to eat. I will longer be eating or ordering from you establishment. At the minimum, I expect a prompt response to have you refund me in full for my order you did not deliver this evening. If I could give you -10 stars for this horrible experience. I would.
The restaurant was extremely dirty, the floor looked liked it wasn’t swept in a couple days, we had to ask if they could clean our table and they left it wet
From Uber Eats (postmates) delivery. The people in charge getting Uber Eats orders ready expect Uber drivers to fill up drinks , this is not our job, if you are short of staff this is the restaurant problem not us.As a restaurant you should make sure you seal the food and drinks for your customers, if I was your customer and from you at Uber Eats I expect you to be responsables of serving and parking all my food and drinks.ORDER time 11:22:23 AM of today
