Amazing food in a cute little taco shop. I have been coming here for many years and am glad they are still here. Amazing! My belly is happy.

I came here to find some good Mexican food and based upon their four stars arrived for lunch via the drive-thru (surprise!). Maybe that should have been a warning. Their menu was enormous, the prices not cheap. Only two cars ahead of me, so I ordered my favorite, cheese enchilada combo, and didn't have to wait long. The girl at the window was very polite. She gave me the bag with the food and I pulled over into a parking spot to eat. I opened the bag and saw sauce had spilled out of the container and into the bag. Sauce everywhere inside. I opened my car door and placed the bag on the ground, removing the container and placing it on the bag to catch any drips. The sauce was brown (?) and a bit spicy. Already I'm not happy about that. The beans were the typical refried beans. Just like you get out of a can. Very dry with a sprinkling of dried cheese on it. Ugh. One taste confirmed it. Dry. No taste. Salt would have improved it, but only slightly. The rice was unimpressive. No flavor, very close to dry. There was a mass of shredded iceberg lettuce on top of the enchiladas. I think there were four flat, folded over tortillas and they had melted cheese in them. They were drenched in that unappealing, slightly spicy brown sauce. The one star is for the cheese in the enchiladas. A hand-made sign on the menu board said they only use fresh eggs, so that had given me hope that they try hard to provide a quality product. Alas, I won't be back and definitely cannot recommend this place.

Ordered 3 burritos.2 chorizo & egg and 1 beans & cheese.Got home, it was not the correct order.Only the beans & cheese was correct. Was too late to return the other two as we had cut them in half already. They need to be more attentive when packaging folks' order.

I bought 3 carne Asada fries plates two days ago, but the fries were uncooked and it is not good at all. I threw it away. It is disappointing.

This used to be my favorite spot in la Mesa, but about 50% of my experiences here leave me regretting choosing them. They get orders wrong often, and the quality seems to depend on which cook is working. Sometimes the staff is friendly and accommodating, and sometimes they're just unpleasant. When it's good it's good, but know that you're taking a gamble.

This place has gone down hill. Today I ordered a burrito with no onions. They added a bunch of onions and very little carne asada. I was unable to eat the burrito. 12 dollars down the trash. Bummer I will eat and take my money elsewhere.

Amazing prices and food. Everything we got , quesadilla potato taco with rice and beans and an agua fresca was delicious. Will be returning

I usually love going to this place but the last couple times they have cheaped out and filled my surf and turf burrito with mostly rice. For a burrito thats like 11 bucks and used to be the size of a small baby filled to the brim with shrimp and carne asada I would expect more than just 4 shrimp and an outer dusting of carne asada meat around the bulk of rice. Bums me out cuz this is one of my favorite places in my neighborhood. Now I have to venture out and find a new one. Ughhh

The food is amazing. Very friendly staff. They should have a 5.0 rating. Authentic Mexican. Check it out sometime and you will go back.

Love it here but I wish they would sell 4 or 8oz salsas since they limit the amount you can get.
