I started working in La Jolla this past spring and always passed this cute little market on my Friday commute. I finally pulled over a couple weeks ago when I had some extra time and tried it out. I am so happy I did because I just love this market. There is a great selection of fresh made deli items in addition to top tier sandwiches and fresh breads. Be sure to check their specials boards before you walk in, I had the Turkey, Brie and cranberry sandwich today with the potato soup and both were delicious. I also got their chicken salad which is done right and have been snacking on the cornichons all day. The shelved goods are also curated from special imported and domestic brands-there are many items I have heard about but have never been able to try. I look forward to getting some of the French soups my next visit and the sweet treats in the corner. On top of all of the above, the customer service is really fantastic. After working really long and stressful work weeks, walking into this place feels like a warm hug. The hospitality makes me feel like I am at home and the best way to start my weekend- thank you Lisa. My only regret is I didn't pull over sooner.
My wife and I were visiting family in San Diego and staying in La Jolla, just by chance one of my best friends who lives in Texas happened to be staying with his family in La Jolla. We were going to go over to have dinner with them and I was to bring desert and some wine. So I had stopped in this place earlier to see what they had and decided to come back and pick up our items. The owner Lisa is amazing, as I person who runs a small business I know how important customer service is and she has it nailed. She helped this Kentucky Boy pick out the right desert, we got 4 of the chocolate chip cookies and 2 of the Reese's Cookies. They were amazing, now I don't know how they eat in Cali, so don't let Lisa tell you that she splits one cookie with 4 people. You need to not listen to her and get one cookie per person, sorry a 1/4 of a cookie just wont cut it!We also got some champagne and another package of tiramisu desert and everyone enjoyed it all!If the cookies are any indication of how the rest of the menu is you must check out this place
The food was amazing. Freashing after a long day at the beach. Cleanliness superb, amazing environment and the owner made the eatery. Super kind, super down to earth and vibed out, with not just us, but all her customers. Very engaging and friendly. They also have an amazing Philly cheese steak and lemonade are a must try if in the area.
We had the Açaí Bowl and the BLT sandwich here. Both were a fantastic way to start our day. Good food, good coffee and a good spot to enjoy it. Host is a lovely lady!
This place is the best! My family visited La Jolla for days and we went here every day, most days multiple times. We took amazing sandwiches to the zoo, beach and safari park. The owners are so sweet and friendly. My two year old loves this place and the puppies he got to pet. As a side note please be respectful of their property, I witnessed some folks not watching their children and letting them break things, not cool!
Very friendly workers, want you to enjoy the food you get.I liked the salmon bagel, although it had too much cream cheese - I was able to wipe some off and enjoy my breakfast. The Avocado toast somehow tasted almost like nothing, despite having tomato arugula and balsamic vinaigrette. Maybe needed more salt? But the bread was good.I would eat here again for the fast and friendly service, but probably wouldn't get the Avocado toast.
I love this shop! Lisa is officially our new cookie lady! You can’t beat her warm chocolate chip cookies (lots of choices and Food!) and friendly banter. I would come here every day if I lived here. Just go ? she is awesome and her shop is adorable !!!
Stopped here for a quick on the go breakfast before our La Jolla kayak tour. The cheese and ham stuffed crossiant tasted great. They have outdoor seating, a small food menu, and groceries.
Grabbed some to go Philly Cheesesteak and wandered about while waiting. There is a very nice bar seating like outdoors in one area and tables also in the front and side. Cheesesteak was decent considering I ate it cold. It’s nice to chill here. Cute little store and cafe
Awesome food/groceries, high-quality ingredients, very dog friendly, laid-back environment, and absolutely wonderful owners. No fuss, just great selections and even better people. My favorite place in LJ Shores by far - so grateful to have such a perfect local spot around here.
