Lovely outdoor setting, friendly service, incredible sushi!
I have lived in La Jolla for four years but this was my first opportunity to enjoy sushi at this wonderful restaurant. We sat out tours for sunset and enjoyed beautifully prepared sushi and drinks. The Ahi tuna was incredibly fresh and tender. All the California rolls were imaginative and perfectly prepared.
Restaurant was dirty, there was sand, food and puddles all over the floor. The sushi wasnât fresh at all- and tasted old.
The food fresh and the portions are normal. The fringe are not too expensive. You have what you pay for.
Tasty well prepared delicious Japanese food. beautifully presented. Great staff. Moderate prices: gyoza $7 and they will make them steamed if requested (otherwise deep fried), seafood yakisoba $16, salmon teriyaki $20. Everything was great!
Mediocre food that's a bit on the expensive side.If you want to eat some fish, the Sushi & Sashimi combo would probably be your best value choice, which comes with 6 pieces of fish and 5 nigiri. The fish is mostly quite fresh, but the cuts are not premium. The sushi rice was mushy and packed too tight that it was not very enjoyable to bite into, the sushi chef really needed to work on his skills. My friend ordered the Una Don and it was just ok, a sad amount of eel (compared to other places) and a hefty charge (30$), not the best value either. There are better Japanese places around the area, just go somewhere else.
Really good experience! I came in and was helped immediately. Got fresh food that was pleasing to the eyes AND the taste buds. Paid and left within an hour. I wasn't rushed or ignored and that gets my vote every time. Done in time to walk to the beach and see the sunset.
We got a takeout Chefs choice, Alaska roll and salmon roll. It was over $80 for 3 people. the salmon pieces were very small size. The chefs choice was only 12 pieces. For 3 people it was not enough food. We were disappointed. maybe we just ordered the wrong things but we have had lots lots lots better, and much cheaper
We normally go up around Convoy for ramen and sushi. Sushi Mori has a small "hole in the wall" family run vibe and we absolutely loved it! Their pricing was more than fair for the area and quality. We will certainly be back!
