One of the best sushi spots you can eat at! Loved the Casanova roll ??!! We keep coming back to this spot and it never disappoints! Highly recommend.
Probably the BEST sushi & sake experience I’ve ever had in my life!! We asked Shiku Sushi to cater a client event for us, and the word “catering” doesn’t do this justice. This was simply an experience! Owner Hitoshi was able to present some of the freshest, finest nigiri my mouth has ever tasted paired elegantly with 5 different types of sake which were all DELICIOUS!Trying to please all of our guests, we asked if there was a vegetarian option, and boy did they deliver! I have NEVER seen veggie nigiri like this before, and love that my vegetarian clients were able to partake in this memorable experience as well!If you’re visiting La Jolla, a resident of La Jolla, or within 100 miles of La Jolla, YOU NEED TO TRY THEM OUT! If you’re looking to host a corporate/ private event, you will not be disappointed. I can’t wait to have them back for events in the future as everyone was (and still is) RAVING ABOUT IT! Don’t pay attention to the negative reviews here. Because if they had a bad experience, it was from their own doing.The servers and experience was amazing and I wouldn’t be shy to recommend this sushi restaurant to all my family and friends.You HAVE to try the yellow tail, I’m not sure what the name of it was, but it came with a jalapeño, basil and this crazy good sauce!
Great place to dine in after a walk along the ocean. We brought a woman from Ukraine who just crossed the border. She said everything was soooooo delicious ? and we totally agree with her.
This place is amazing! We have gone to sushi restaurants from Oceanside to San Diego, and this place stands out for having super high quality, fresh, generous cuts, and charming, friendly staff that make sure you are treated well and feel special.You can’t go wrong with Unagi Don and the Casanova roll. We don’t write reviews very often, but felt this place deserved a good one.
Amazing food and service! They were very attentive to my gluten allergy restrictions. The food was delicious and it was a perfect spot for our date night!
Brian has the best service, this place is a for sure go to spot right after the caves! Grapefruit Sparkling wine is a great addition too! Fast and fresh!
Since moving to the area, we have been to Shiku a handful of times and absolutely love it! Toshi and his crew always greet you with a smile and make sure you are taken care of throughout the whole meal!The fish is super fresh and you cannot go wrong with the sushi selection. Our go-to roll is the Casanova but all of the rolls have so many unique flavors that are worth a try.For the quality of food and the overall experience, the price is beyond reasonable. We love Shiku and it will continue to be our sushi spot.
As we were walking down the street of La Jolla, we walked by this place in route to another sushi place called Blue Ocean. Right away Shiku looked appealing but we already had plans on going to Blue Ocean. Well we get to Blue Ocean and it seemed a bit too fancy and had a 45 minute wait. So we said screw it and went to Shiku and my god did we make the right choice. Hands down the best sushi and hospitality I’ve ever experienced at a restaurant. The owner worked that night and was extremely pleasant to talk to. He told us a bit about his Japanese culture talked about how Master Chefs make their sushi. Made us feel really special! Highly recommend and I can guarantee you’ll be satisfied. We’ll be bringing our friends next time.
