Great meal, Michael Feldman was outstanding magician. Lovely ambiance.
There was not a whole lot of info I could find on parking but there is some customer parking right behind the venue and when we arrived (about 25 minutes prior to dinner) there were plenty of open spots. We started the evening in the lounge area of the event space. There is a nice bar and some high top and bar seating, lots of neat posters from various magicians. Once you enter make sure to head up to the bar and check-in. You can grab a drink (soda’s and iced tea are included) or you can grab a glass/bottle of wine or a beer while you wait to enter the dinner venue. Prices were reasonable compared to most restaurants and they have a nice selection of beer and wine. I opted for a bottle of the Spellbound Cab (couldn’t help it the name was too perfect) pretty good and it paired well with the meal.We were escorted into the dining chamber around 6:20/6:30 and taken to our seat. The dining chamber is large yet very intimate, each dinner/show has limited seating and there is a variety of seating. Bar top tables surround a large dining table. We had a party total of 6 so we sat two at the dining table and two at each bar top table. Dining set up was simple yet elegant, we each had a Godiva chocolate next to an ornate silver charger. Everything in the lounge to dining room tied in to the entire theme. The colors, the light fixtures and the glassware were all beautiful. I was surprised there were only two servers and both ran the bar as well as bringing out each course. They were on top of it though, when someone asked for something, whether it was a refill or a bottle of wine they were there. Dinner started with the appetizer which this evening was a crab cake and it was tasty. Next course we received was a dinner salad filled with fancy lettuce, craisins, cheese, and a light almost champagne vinaigrette. After the salad we had a pallet cleanser of lemon sorbet with a drizzle of strawberry sauce and it was so refreshing and just perfect to break up the two prior courses. It was time for the main course and these did not disappoint! Mystique has a variety of main’s to choose from and a few upgrades (such as a shrimp cocktail and stuffed mushrooms) so there is something for everyone. We had a majority choose prime rib, the meat was tender and well-seasoned. We felt it was cooked perfectly. My Dad got the seas scallops and he really enjoyed them. My husband went with the chicken wrapped in prosciutto on a bed of sautéed spinach and he said it was great. We were so stuffed we couldn’t possibly think of eating anything else….. then came the dessert. Oh my goodness, I am not quite sure what it was but it tasted like a luscious, soft brownie atop a crumbly brown butter cookie topped off with a gooey fresh marshmallow and a slight drizzle of strawberry. It was decedent yet light and hands down one of the best deserts I have had. Each course was timed perfect and simply delicious. The evening is topped off with some magic. There I a rotation of magicians which you can find who will be performing when on Mystique’s website. The show lasted maybe 30-45 minutes we were able to see Bruce Gold perform during our visit and he was amazing. I love magic, have ever since I was a little kid. There is just something fascinating and amazing about watching a magician. We were close enough to see everything and still no clue how Mr. Gold was able to do what he did. We have been to the Magic Castle and it is a fun experience. Mystique is a great, local venue and is something different and fun to do that is local. It is a smaller, more intimate venue. Plus it is closer to home for us. Overall the Mystique experience was amazing, everything from the location, setting, staff, food, and entertainment was awesome. This may sound cliché but the evening truly was magical.
Such an incredible, immersive, delicious experience. So much more than just a five course meal! Mystique is truly magical and memorable from the moment you walk in the door. The food was delicious... the rich crab cake, fresh salad, palate-cleansing sorbet, and some of the best prime rib I've I had in years - capped off by a delicious desert. And then... the magic!! Mystique features new world-renowned magicians and themed shows, and the featured performer changes every few weeks. Our magician was globally recognized and has won several awards. He was was charming, funny and incredibly talented. I still have NO IDEA how he did it... what a fantastic evening. We will be back!!!
We found a promotion for 50% off dinner and a magic show at Mystique. That sounded pretty cool so we decided to try it out. It's an intimate dining experience, the room is small and you are either seated at a long table or a few small tables along the sides. We chose the prime rib and the cioppino for our main meals and started with the shrimp cocktail. I loved the shrimp cocktail, the cocktail sauce was perfect. The prime rib and cioppino were both tasty. There is also a crab cake and salad to start so plenty of food! Most of the experience is dinner service, the card trick performance at the end wasn't that long or involved. I think it's a fun experience but I'm not sure it's something if do again. It's pretty pricey even with the half off deal especially since they offer many dinner upgrades and alcohol separately.
I recently visited the Mystique for their magical dining experience. It was a really great time. It was intimate, unique, and well done. The food was delicious and the magician was funny and professional. This is a great date night or evening for taking someone for a special occasion. Make sure to make reservations in advance. Mainly all the seats had a fine view. There is a small wine bar you can drink at in front before the experience starts as well. Parking wasn’t too bad either but I’d go a little earlier than the scheduled time.
Yeeesss!!! Finally, we have a show and amazing dinner in San Diego. Not only that the staff (Mario and Marco) are great, the food and the performance is just so on point: Exclusive Las Vegas way to goHighly recommended
The food was phenomenal and the show was amazing. We had so much fun and we will definitely be coming back.
Alright Everyone! If you're looking for an amazing dinner and a show, this is the place to go! We had an amazing time for the hubby's birthday! The food was great! If you have any food allergies you can note it when you make reservations and they take your food allergies very seriously. I'm lactose intolerant and they were very careful not to give me anything with lactose. I appreciated very much that they took it seriously. The food tasted great! I'm a pretty picky eater and enjoyed all of the food they served. Also omg the show was amazing! It was George Tovar's first night at the Mystique and he was phenomenal!!!! He was absolutely hilarious and made it entertaining the entire night! His magic was amazing, he had a great show and he was so entertaining! The website did say they discouraged kids under 8. I brought my kiddos, one under 8 and told them to be on their best behavior. George was awesome and incorporated them into the magic show. But honestly it really isn't the place to take younger kiddos.Tip: if you want to upgrade to the tomahawk steak, you do so when you make your reservations.
Went and everything was excellent! Shout out to Chance and Tawny (I hope I'm spelling that right) for being excellent waiters! The magician was sweet too! Great atmosphere!
Bill Abbott was awesome, we had a fun time and the Chef was amazing. The Bartender/Server was superb.
