If you are looking for (good!) music to go with your dinner, and why not, this is THE PLACE for you. The person on the keyboard/vocalist were top notch performers; he performed all night with NO BREAK (he seems to love what he does); she came in on a few songs and displayed some impressive vocals/styling on mostly covers by Whitney Houston (always a crowd pleaser); This place exudes an era of fine dining that is fast disappearing, hence the crowded, non-windowed space that was bustling when we walked in at 6:45 pm; no pressure to leave your table (it's yours for the evening!); bygone style banquet /leather booths, paintings on the wall, warm and welcoming, relaxing atmosphere. Now to the food: impressive for the price point, again quality/quantity was appropriate in a town charging $25/for a hamburger (and fries if you are lucky). Dwayne, the Executive Chef was spot on with the preparation and presentation. The diners are mostly an older, well-heeled crowd with discerning tastes and pocketbooks, they could go anywhere, but they come here, what a great barometer to gauge the vibe. Our old mainstays used to be The Butcher Shop, Red Fox Room and Flemings, the former two have sacrificed both quality, service and quantity in the name of the "pandemic" and we have given them numerous opportunities to get it right, all times we have found them to be inconsistent, sloppy and not what they once were. Flemings, is still okay, no entertainment, no great happy hour (not since "covid". . .); none of these have received negative reviews from me as I don't believe in those. I (we) just walk with my (our) wallet. If our absence doesn't matter that's okay, no ill will, I wish them well. I appreciate that the restaurant management did not add the "added surcharge" which is always suspect as to the question it imparts, "where is this money going, exactly?" and not really fair to the paying/unsuspecting customers, ie, finding out when your bill arrives. Kudos to them. 5 STARS!

Wonderful service and amazing food. The Veal Parmigiana was delicious. We enjoyed our evening at Manhattan very much

Our neighborhood favorite for a great meal at a fair price in a delightful venue.

We enjoyed a very delicious dinner. Excellent service!

Had a wonderful Anniversary dinner here last night. The atmosphere is lively with a really good piano player. Guests sing along, sit in and have a great time. Feels like an old NYC joint.

food was amazing, I had the house special pork chop. Just great.

We stay every summer at the Empress hotel and each time we are there we always have a special dinner at the Manhattan. It is a great atmosphere, the service was wonderful and our food was amazing. It is a great value for the price and it is worth every penny!!

This is one of our favorite classic restaurants and it’s had its ups and downs over the years. This last visit was on the down side. None of the excellent regular waiters we’re working. Our waitress, which we hadn’t met before, was not up to the task.

Make sure if you want to have a conversation with your dining companions to sit away from the bar and music in the other room . If you want to be a cougar and a “wohoo” girls sit at the bar. Food was wonderful but don’t let the wait staff bring the food too fast. Tell the waiter to slow done the courses if you want to enjoy the meal.. t the Caesar salad is a must.

Wonderful experience!
