Overall, I was very displeased with this whole experience. The wait time alone was atrocious. The food was bellow average in terms of quality and taste. My partner ordered the Riviera omelet and said it was bland. The pancakes that came with it had a bad texture to them and were so dry no amount of syrup could save them. This place is terribly understaffed so everything takes forever to come to the table. All in all we did not enjoy our outing here. Mediocre food, and horrible wait times
We were so hungry as we stepped in the door. The place was very busy at 11ish, and it took a while to get seated. I was looking forward to wrapping my hands around a nice mocha, and waited and waited. Then a server brought my husband the "fresh-squeezed" orange juice he'd ordered. We both had a sip. It was clearly watered down. We know because we squeeze our own orange juice all the time. Then we noticed our waitress was taking an order from the people who had walked in behind us. That was it. We left.
My family and I were visiting SD and tried Harry’s CS for the first time! Great food! Awesome location and atmosphere! Service was spectacular! Alex took very good care of us! ???
We have been coming here for years, and usually can get a great breakfast. Not sure what is going on, but this time was not good at all. I ordered the eggs Benedict. The english muffin was barely cooked & the eggs were over done. Couldn’t tell when I got it because there was so much canned “hollandaise” sauce you couldn’t see the eggs. Hopefully this isn't the way it is in the future. We will give it a try one more time but... if it is the same it will be the last time.
Some of the best breakfast you can eat. Never disappointed every time I stop in for breakfast.
What a classic diner! With Norman Rockwell prints covering the walls and a menu for breakfast to please any palate, this place is a gem! The service is excellent, the people very friendly, and the food bounteous and delicious. We started with spicy bloody marys and followed with classics like the country-fried steak breakfast, a Greek omelette and even chilaquilles! Off the beaten track and well worth the trip. Great breakfast anytime of day...yum yum!
Classic diner. We loved it. Old school charm with great food and service. Huge portions. The best breakfast in La Jolla. For more detail on my rating system - here are my “5 by 5” rating notes. The food was so good, no it was mouthwatering good! We absolutely enjoyed all of it, our waitress was a sweetheart as well. The food was worth the money and they atmosphere was everything!
I had chilliquillas. Tomatillo save excellent. Serving size generous. Companion had breakfast burrito. Also excellent. Huge. Had orange juice mimosas. Tasty. Could have been larger. Service excellent. Server engaging.
When we are in La Jolla, we try to stop at Harry’s for breakfast. We love the hash browns. This is a family owned diner that opened in 1960. We had bacon and eggs and hot tea. The tea and hash browns were hot. The eggs, bacon, sausage, toast and pancake were not cold lukewarm. The sausage patties were salty though. Breakfast was good but not great! Did I mention the crispy crunchy on the top fluffy in the middle hash browns ( we ordered extra) Get there early sometimes there is a long wait. We were able to be immediately seated. There is outside seating but we ate inside.
