Very good Italian restaurant. I ordered pizza and it was delicious and much larger than I thought it would be.The cheese was much better than the normal mozzarella.Follow me on IG @ dr.riley15_ for more reviews.

Excellent service, food was delicious and authentic Italian, wine selection was good ambiance with views was nice. Ocean views from our table made the sunset view spectacular. We would recommend this Reastaurant.

We were so happy to find this restaurant it was crowded everywhere and we were able to get a very nice booth seat next to the bar with a view of the sunset through the doors to the patio. We ordered the margarita pizza and a bottle of wine both of which were molto delicioso!! We can hardly wait to return!

All the restaurants in La Jolla seemed to be busy so after wandering around looking for a suitable restaurant we were suddenly aware of the pleasant aroma of good food being cooked somewhere. We followed our noses and came to Catania - surprisingly, not on the ground floor but upstairs. Our disappointed faces when we heard it too was full must have helped us because we were offered a very small table outside the main restaurant area. Not as glamorous but perfect for two hungry people. The staff were friendly and made us feel very welcome. A traditional Italian menu, we had no difficulty choosing something we would like, washed down with a glass or two of good vino. In fact, we enjoyed our meal so much that we booked a second dinner there the following night. On arrival, we were shown to our table inside the restaurant and just a few minutes later the manager passed by, noticed it was us again and stopped for a brief chat with us. If I am ever in La Jolla again, Catania will be the first restaurant on my list to visit. Highly recommended!

The meal was so amazing. I would recommend to dine here and get food cooked from their brick oven. We have shrimps and foccacia which were so good. Pasta was also excellent too.

Food was out of this world. Service and ambience spectacular. Do yourself a favor and go with multiple people so you can get everything on the menu! Make sure to get the cauliflower! Would 1000000% come back.

Nice mainly open space on third floor overlooking local shopping streets. Super service – readily available staff (after a few really bad experiences earlier in the week with consistently unavailable staff in other restaurants) – great drinks, super amazing appetizers (chicken liver crostini with fruits, etc.; crispy octopus with chickpeas); good and interesting pizzas. Organized and pleasant experience.

Fantastic meal at Catalina last night. Had a reservation at 4:30 after a short visit to the children’s pool shore area to see the seals. Seated outside on the rooftop near a heater. Lovely ambiance. Attentive waitress. My husband ordered the meat pizza and I had the sea scallops. Oh my goodness. I’m still dreaming about that dish today. Picture three large Maine scallops on a butternut purée and a crispy bacon on top sitting beside an incredible roasted 1/4 of a cabbage. I think the cabbage was as good as the scallops. Holy cow amazing. So happy I ordered it.

Great cozy restaurant. Interior is stunning. Service is amazing. Highly recommend this place!

Our party of four came here to enjoy a holiday dinner. The evening started with inexperienced, discourteous staff, a very chilly dining room with an annoyingly loud, tinny sound system and really poor-quality food. A really gruesome experience. I am astounded that this restaurant received a Michelin Bib?!
