I love this place used to come here often with my parents .My mom's uncle (Uncle Joe) used to prepare chilaquiles for Sunday brunch. Everything on the menu is awesome. The 1st time I ever ate here I was like maybe 10 years old and the restaurant was El Ranchoito in a strip mall on beach blvd. There was a surf shop there CME SURFBOARDS as I remember. Am I really this old? John and Tilly were always excellent hosts
This is a hidden gem of a restaurant. Talk about authentic!! From the waitress staffs uniform, down to the ABSOLUTE delicious food they serve. I promise you it was as if Abuelita Maria was in the kitchen cooking. If you are ever in the area, this is a must go to.
The BEST place in town and my absolute favourite Mexican restaurant. My family has been coming here my entire life— over 30 years, and now, four generations of my family have been enjoying their delicious cuisine and marvellous margaritas. The staff are like family. We just love Señor Campos— a true La Habra classic! Thank you for the great food and beautiful memories! ?
Throwback old-school So-Cal Mexican food with decor to match. Love the house specialties and service is consistently good. They also have Hefeweisen on tap which is a nice twist on the usual beer offerings...
Senor Campos is an institution in the Whittier area. The staff is instant family, and the food is like home (assuming your mom was a good cook). But beware, the margaritas are strong! Be ready to dance on the tables if you have two.
Best food and service! Love this place!
We were a large group and needed to get out of the restaurant by a certain time due to our plans afterwards. They took 43 minutes to simply get us our checks, despite us asking multiple people several times. Others around us were also complaining about the wait time for their checks. The restaurant was not very busy either. The food also is not worth the price.
The food is consistently excellent with so many delicious options. Try the fajitas, chile colorado, chile verde, New Mexico enchiladas, the sope (with chile verde), or just a chile relleno and enchilada. It does get busy and they have been under staffed lately, so dining in can take a little longer than it should, sometimes.
Senor Campos is always a fun place to visit! It feels very comfortable kind of like at home Oregon friend's house! Margaritas are great food is lovely and it just has a warm and comfy feeling. Been going here for years and years and years and never disappointed! Whether we in a large group of 10 or small group of two it's always consistent and the staff is so friendly ???
Always great food. Took my beautiful wife there when we dated about 40 or 45 years ago. Back then they had mariachis. We drove all the way from the L. A. area. We've sinced lived in Whittier for 24 years and still go there as often as possible. Had dinner there tonight ?.
