How far they have fallen. We went through to celebrate a birthday on a Sunday afternoon and wished we went to tacobell for a better experience. 2 staff members you have to search for. The restaurant is filthy, super gross. The salsa selection had a 3rd of thr options, with fizzy salsa that wasn't cooled. Beer selection was empty, we were forced to drink the end of a guava beer keg that tasted like flamented/old gauva juice someone left out at room temperature. The beans were hard and dry, but less than the carne asada was... The urinals were broken and overflowing with urine(I'll spare you pictures of the disaster bathrooms) Even the neon lights were unmaintained.Highly recommend you skip on this one for any special occasions. Maybe wait for whatever will replace it in the near future. UPDATE: Super nervous for the franchise if photos of a smashed door, filthy floors, empty beer spouts and broken urinals dont narrow down the location.
A wonderful taco place. Their hyper focus on making quality tacos really shows. They have quality meats that are seasoned wonderfully. The carne asada is flavorful (though a little dry) and the Al pastor was great (could go heavier on the acidic ingredients to draw out more of that flavor). The corn tortillas have a unique flavor to them, and I really liked it though others in my party did not. The guac was spot on and so was the rice, some of the best rice I've ever had. The beans were top notch too. The chips were good. The salsa bar was a massive stand out. YOU HAVE TO TRY THE SALSA MACHA. It's so dark, rich, smokey, and delicious. It does have peanuts so watch for that. Overall, though it's not perfect and there is room for improvement, I think they deserve all the good things coming to them and warrant a visit from you!
Fast service and great food! My favorite part is the patio seating! It is really nice to sit outside and enjoy the view and food :)
I don't want to put this review but I believe I have to because since the first day that this location opened in this shopping center we always had a good experience but the last time that we visited this location the experience was not the same anymore.we visited this location for Taco Tuesday, February 15th, 2022, usually this location is packed on taco Tuesday but there were only 2 people inside, first, we thought the restaurant is closed but when we walked in the lights were on and there was a girl by the cashier. The interior design is nice and modern but the food quality dropped a lot. I'm not sure if this is because they opened another location but we got couple of tacos and there were all bad and we actually got food poisoning. They removed their candy areas so no more candies kids. The sauces were way less than before and even on taco Tuesday they didn't refill those. This is just my message to the owner to check and see what is going on and what they can do to improve it.
Service was great and food came quick. Awesome cochinita pibil burrito!! The agua de Jamaica has a cinnamon taste, it's so delish. We're totally coming back here.
Incredibly mediocre. Had read great things, but this place was stupid expensive, slow, and sort of meh. 30+ minutes to get six tacos, which were cold, greasy, and some of the least exciting food we've had in years. Not worth a visit.
I see a lot of mixed reviews so I was hesitant to order. Glad I checked them out. Good food. They have a red salsa that more like chipotle sauce then tradition, only thing I wasn’t a fan for. The green sauce is the way to go. Little pricey but Big burritos and good taste you don’t get hustled. I feel the bad reviews are just haters. Also when most of the burrito is meat it’s going to be a little greasy. You can get non greasy at chipotle with that weak half spoon of meat serving. ??♂️ check them out
When I first tried this Taquiero food, I was felt that it would be my favorite Mexican spot in Irvine. There are not that many options either but their food was good. The last few times I have ordered, I have gotten my order wrong. Even though their burrito have no rice or beans, they always include it. I specifically asked this time for no rice or beans and this is what I got. Not only their service is slow and the food quality has gone down hill, they lock their front door to the public. No signs, nothing, you gotta figure that the side door is now their main entrance. Do yourself a favor, go somewhere else to have a better experience.
I love Irvine but the glaring lack of Mexican options is something that can't be overlooked. After seeing stellar reviews of this place, I came to check it out in person on a Saturday night. The place looks kinda unkempt, no one was taking care of the tables or cleaning them up. The prices were decent and service was OK. I ordered 3 different tacos. Carne Asada and Al Pastor were the highlight. Carnitas were just ok. They also have a glass cabinet where they keep inexpensive Mexican candies, which you can help yourself to (contingent on buying something from them, of course). That was a nice and unique touch but the fact that the place is so filthy, and unclean really made me have to deduct one star.
Good quality of tacos and related, and good beers. Nice service too. Recommended
