Excellent tasty food. Good service. We had eaten there a few times and also catered twice. Every time it came out great.Price is reasonableRecommend this place for great Indian food.Update: June 2022We got a catering service for a party at home. The food was excellent and have enough for everyone

We went last night at 8:55pm and were told they can only take to go orders. So we ordered the food as it was a friends birthday and all naan and breads were uncooked like in the picture. The curries were bad with very less salt. The starters had way too much salt.I would have given zero star if possible. To the restaurant staff- if you dont want to take orders, just say no. But dont give us uncooked and bad food if you are in rush to close. Totally ruined our experience last night.

One of our family friend recommended this restaurant. When we went there we were scared as it was empty. The moment we opened the door one server guided us a table. Gave us water and asked us to Scan qr code for menu & order. We scanned and tried to order but it was not letting us order before we register and put email , phone and etc etc. So we called the server and he really helped by taking order on paper. We ordered starter Chinese bhel, dumplings, soup & noodles. The bhel was very fresh crisp and well garnished. We liked it coz it was very different from other places. The spices were just perfect. Next came the soup which was hot, prepared fresh coz the veggies added still had crunch. We loved every drop of it. So this Soup was served by a different server, who was slow in putting the soup from serving tray to our table. He himself realized it and told us that he is new and works at the restaurant next door. His name was UDAY. He was very good as he filled my water twice and also asked us if the starter was okay and if we need anything spices for soup to which we said no as the soup was perfect. So finally he served Dumplings & Noodles. I was blown away with the garnishing and aromas. The dumplings were spot on and the schezwan sauce was very flavorful. The Noodles were also very fresh and just enough hot to please the palate. We requested UDAY to get some Cold water as the water first served was at room temp. He not only gave me cold water but also was courteous to ask me to try and let him know if we needed any ice. He was very attentive towards the three tables he was serving not like the other server who was on his phone at the bar. We enjoyed our food, the ambiance was also very very good with high ceilings, painting and beautiful interiors. In fact everything was likeable. UDAY even told us that we can buy these addon sauces if we like. He told us little bit about the restaurant next door which we are going to try soon. In fact besides the food this Server was the reason of making our visit a pleasure as I remember that I dropped a fork and the moment it happened UDAY not only gave me a new fork but also picked the dropped one for me. What more can you expect from a restaurant. I was happy and left the restaurant with smile and waving to the hero UDAY. So 5 star interiors, 6 star food, 7 star service & of course 8 stars for the Chef. I also want to appreciate the owners and managers who are managing this place so well. It's a Gem and need to be replicated or chained so this good food and excellent service is all over socal. I am ordering my event catering soon and highly recommend this place. Request people to try them out and support them because we want more eating places like these. One most important thing is the prices - prices are very reasonable and compared to the quality and freshness of the food. It's NOTHING. There is one thing which I will suggest- the quantity of the Dumplings is weird. I will say I don't mind if you charge more but all other places serve 8 to 10 dumplings at the same price but this place serves 3. Don't get me wrong it's not a complaint but just a suggestion from a guy who owned a chain of restaurants and is a excellent chef himself. Thanks Southern Spice & special thanks to UDAY for the excellent service. Here are some pic of interiors & food.

The food is utterly delicious! Love the taste and the variety in the menu! Would highly recommend for the food. The only caveat I had was the customer service during dine in. They didn’t have any cutlery or utensils. The utensils are served with the food, but if you order a dish to share you are basically on your own. I asked 3 people and walked around just to get a plate and fork. I gave up on napkins. This happened in all three instances I was there.

I'm a south Indian and if I could rate this place any lower, I would. The experience was underwhelming at best. The place was understaffed, the food was not only bland but tasted old. We were 4 people eating out of 2 plates cuz we were not given the extra plates. When we did wanna ask for the utensils, the waiters were no where to be found. We went on a cold evening and the door was frequently kept open by the customers walking in and out.If the food was good I may have not been bothered by any of these things. But, with no surprise, the food was egregious. Basically we didn't want to finish half of the stuff we bought. Needless to say i won't be going back here again. You shouldn't either.

I wont even give a single star.Worst taste. We ordered malai kofta and paneer tikka masala. Both came into exact same gravy. They think people are fool. I wont recommend this place.

Very unhappy with the lady who felt the need to yell at us after another colleague of hers had already discussed our issue. There is no way to know whether they are still serving dine in. We were simply passing through and since there were other people dining in and no one told us anything about them no longer serving after 9 (Google showed 9.30 pm as closing). They have no signs to indicate they don't serve after 9. Plus the order process is online. So we had already paid. This was a terrible experience. Perhaps they are good as take out. I do not recommend a dine in experience at all. Food wasn't bad but we were left with a sour experience.

I have a bit of a mixed review but I guess I haven’t given it a fair chance as I’ve ordered non-South Indian food a couple of times. The food is average and laden with butter and oil. The service is super slow and subpar. The items won’t come out on time together so the experience of dining with all the dishes is not the best. For example- daal will come to the table but by the time the rice comes the daal is cold. As the name suggests they’re good for only South Indian dishes.

As they have the scan format and pay at table make sure the table you choose is the one you want because once you order you cannot switch tables as we tried. We loved the Chicken biryani with mango. You have to love Achar/mango pickle for this dish which I think is an acquired taste. Super big serving. The Dosa did not have the fermented taste we are used to, was filling but would opt for curries instead. The lamb tikka masala was very different than we are used to maybe more subtle in spices and a tad sweet and not overly tomato-y, my family of 4 loved it.Naans were awesome, super fluffy, not crispy and thin like other restaurants have. I wish I could achieve this texture at home. The Ghee roast chicken was excellent and really well seasoned, order with Naan.I like the decor. Self service means lots of foot traffic around you while eating.I would return for sure.
