We came at around 8:45pm…Placing order was a bit difficult cause the waiters seemed unfamiliar with the ordering systemI waited for 15+min on the seafood soaked rice, while my boyfriend could almost finish his dinnerReally overpriced and below standards, kind of disappointed to try on a Friday night
Nice and cozy space with a cute tiny outdoor seating. Overall we liked the food. We only tried sushi and special rolls. The fish was very fresh and their tuna was so good! I would definitely suggest this place. The only issue is the wait time from when you order the food until it gets ready. Also their sushi menu should be more diverse, and they should add the 2 piece option and the prices of each sushi as well.
My girlfriend and I were invited to try this place out, so it was hard to say no! This place is a very casual sit-down that borders on a cafe more than a restaurant. They even have an outdoor enclosed area on the side of the building if you wanted to eat outside. We were given a selection of foods: Takoyaki, Fish Broth Noodle Soup, Aburi Don, Caterpillar Roll. The takoyaki had a soft dough that melts in your mouth, which I thought was better than the chewy dough that I've experienced with past takoyaki. It also had some nice chunks of octopus with a sweet unagi (I think?) sauce + house special mayo, which I thought was a nice mix of sauces to give a creamy texture to the fried ball. The fish broth noodle soup is the star of this place and I've had it at their other location, Sheung Shui, in Lake Forest. First off, the broth is still amazing! It's such a light broth with an amazing seafood taste that you can't get from any place I'm aware of, so I love getting it every now and then. Beware, the broth is so light that eating anything else throws off the taste, so try to eat it all at once or cleanse your palate between bites of food! The aburi don was probably my favorite item of the night. This rice bowl includes some lightly cooked salmon, unagi, and snow crab. The salmon was super soft and melty, which I thought was odd for a piece of salmon, so my guess was it was salmon belly. Regardless, I really enjoyed the salmon and thought it was insanely tasty. Their unagi is very fresh and has a lot of nice fat on it that makes it just melt in your mouth! Their added house special mayo is definitely a much needed creamy, sweet flavor that helps with how fatty and salty the proteins in the bowl can be.Last, but not least, we have the caterpillar roll. This roll comes with avocado + crab and is topped with a cut of unagi and tobiko. There's not a lot more to say about this roll that I haven't already described in the other items. The caterpillar roll was very good though and I really enjoyed the avocado and unagi combination!
Craving noodles and sushi? This spot is the best of both world!Food: We got 2 different sushi, one was an eel roll and the other was tamagoyaki. Both were delicious, but my bf and I were definitely a fan of the eel one. Besides that we got a fish noodle dish which the portion was large and the fish was *chef's kiss*. We also got a seafood soup with sides (forgot what it was called), but it was nostalgic.Parking: Free parking in plazaService: Service was great! Super friendly and attentive
Came here late one night with my girl since we live a short walk away. This location has traditional dishes but with a new fresh kick. Big fan of their tangy seasoning and especially their Seafood fish soup dish with rice
I had order several dishes and they all taste really great! Love it and definitely will come back again!
good sushi
Sushi is low grade here. We couldn’t finish it. We got the caterpillar roll, rainbow roll & sashimi. The fried calamari was ok. Maybe the ramen is good idk. I really wanted it to be good. We were hungry. The service was sub par. We couldn’t get the attention until we spoke in Mandarin.
We order the fish noodle and chirashi don. The portion is plenty for 2 people and a hippo. The food is also fresh
