FYI, today I was at Islands restaurant in Irvine for lunch with a friend. I asked for my bill, I told the bartender I was using Google pay. She said they don't accept Google pay. All my credit cards are on my Google vallet. I asked for manager "Janet", after she heard the problem and I told her I was not happy, she was very aggressive and asked me to leave their stablishment. That was rude and unacceptable. I think Island should join the rest of the developed world and catch up with technology. Even donut shops accept Google pay. They also need to train their manager better. I have been going there since they opened. I called and paid my bill over the phone.

This has been a family favorite for years. Love the food and Mai Tais. However, we were informed yesterday that fries are no longer included and not bottomless. Asking to pay extra for fries with your burger is not a welcome addition to anyone’s bill. Knowing that Covid has taken a bite out of your revenue, does not mean you make a huge change like this and expect your loyal customers, who kept coming during the Pandemic to now pay extra for French Fries and no refills. Rethink that decision! Our whole family was upset.

The food and service was very good. They had curbside and dine in services. The atmosphere was great and the service was prompt and professional the prices were very affordable mid range made for a good day with family

We were there for Happy Hour over the weekend (3-6:30 pm) and were disappointed to see the Happy Hour menu items priced higher and smaller portions. It'd been awhile since we'd last been to Islands and thought we would visit again since we liked the food. The Islands happy hour had previously been known as a good deal, but now this place is not one I would recommend. The food is good, but with the substantially smaller plates/sizes plus increased prices, it doesn't make it a good deal anymore. Plus service from the bar staff is sporadic if they are busy. There are no dedicated servers for the seated customers in the bar ordering food. Not sure we'd return.

It's just a street.

Last time we were here, it has been awhile. But as we remembered it, food and drinks remained the same. I could order my Big Wave burger and Mai Tai just as I did whenever it was. Still ate it like I hadn’t had a meal in a day or two. Either I was hungry or it was good. Needed a place with good food and large and comfortable tables to show friends vacation photos that we took last year. The are soon going on the same Viking River Cruise. They wanted to see want to expect on their trip and what excursions to take and not to take. I got out all my 15 Pioneer Photo albums and loaded them into the Prius. We looked at 4 really closely. They asked a lot of questions. So it was a good two hours. Other orders included a Toucan or chicken sandwich, a Malibu burger, a Pacifico and Bud light beers and a China Coast Salad. Everyone left the restaurant satisfied and plans for another vacation conversation were made.

This was our first visit to one of the Islands chain of eateries. Apparently they are primarily located in Southern California with a few in Arizona. We elected to sit at a vacant small bar table instead of waiting 15-20 minutes for a table. A bit surprising to see a wait list because I could clearly see 10-12 unoccupied clean tables. Apparently they were a bit understaffed for the business at hand at that time. ANYWAY, we were attended to promptly by the bartender who was handling drinks and food service as well. Food was served promptly and was delicious. Clientele seemed to be what I would call typical Orange County, CA YUPPY, we were by far the oldest people in the place. Will say though, this is a really noisy place. Flat hard ceilings and floors with no partitions to break up sound that seemed to be omnipresent. Also, a smattering of indoor tropical plants would certainly help break up sound plus enhance the tropical island theme. Just my opinion, certainly have been retired too long to understand current business trends.

It has been perhaps five years since I’ve eaten at an Islands and lived it as much as ever. Atmosphere is fun, service is always good, and the food hits the mark This is a good place and kid friendly

Had a Turkey Burger with vegetables which was very good. Medina our server was excellent! TVs should have on sporting events instead of videos. Manager did a good job of checking with all the customers.

Island's has very good burgers and the best cheese fries in Irvine! You cannot not order the cheese fries appetizer here because they are just so yum especially with the ranch dressing dips. The TVs they have around showing videos of folks surfing in the water is mesmerizing - it's very entertaining while you are waiting for your main dish. Servers never skimp with the ranch dressing here. They are also very good with re-filling your drinks promptly especially when it's not busy. This place is a very good choice when dining out with friends or co-workers for lunch during the work week.
