Latin American Peruvian Seafood

Like many reviewers will mention, this is a hidden gem tucked away in an unexpected commercial area yet worth finding. This was my first time coming here and I plan to make this place my go to place for a Peruvian fix. We sat in the shade of a large oak tree which made us feel like we were out in the countryside and not surrounded by the concrete and steel. We started with a red sangria which was very refreshing and well made. We ordered the Chaufa with seafood and the classic Lomo Saltado with cilantro rice. The Chaufa with seafood is basically fried rice, but with very good portions of fresh shrimp, calamari, and strips of fish. The Lomo Salato has a wonderful, savory, meaty flavor, and the fries were perfectly cooked, so they were able to stay a little crisp yet at the same time soaked up the sauce. The cilantro rice was so good I could have eaten it on its own. We ended with the bread pudding, which was a warm, thick slice served with whipped cream and topped with caramel sauce. It's very sweet with flavors of nutmeg, cinnamon, raisins, and caramel. I would recommend you enjoy it with a nice cup of coffee. The service was also impeccable. Our server Juana, was just ad amazing as the food. She was very friendly and helpful when it came to menu choices. This was such a great experience that I look forward to returning soon.

Good food. Good drinks. Nice atmosphere. Workers are kind and quick. Can get busy. Limited seating inside. Maybe 7 tables inside. There is more seating outdoors though.

I bought 2 dishes from this place today and WOW, compliments to the chef's and staff. The Seafood Fried rice is perfect, the taste and the products used, what an amazing dish, the tallarin verde is also great and my kiddos loved it.

Hugely underrated. This peruvian restaurant is the definition of a local gem. Nice evening ambiance with outdoor music and fantastic service. Delicious food and a great selection of wine & beer. The picante plate with the chaufa plate and a good drink of your preference will not disappoint.

Boulibase stew was amazing!!!! Minestrone for my coworker was great, pea based instead of tomato which gave it a unique an amazing twist.

Empanadas are the best in America. Love the green sauce which has a little heat but great taste. Their seafood plate is a blend of everything in the ocean with the lime rice. Well worth a visit.

Great little place kinda tucked away by a bunch of boring commercial zones. You should find this place and try it.I ordered the Jugoso soup which has a lot of great seafood and absolutely stunning broth. The flavor is savory and meshes very well with the seafood, potatoes, and veggies. The broth itself is not very thick which is nice if you're not too hungry. They add a good amount of seafood as well.Staff is very friendly and helpful answering all sorts of questions. I will be coming here again when I am in Irvine. Damn good food.

Loved their friendly service. Food was great as well. Next time we will try the dine in. Really cute place

Very friendly staff and a pleasant place to eat. Lots of shades outdoor seating. Try the Chicken Chaufa. You won't regret it.

Ordered the seafood chaufa and tallarin verde with steak. Both were flavorful! It must get mostly lunch business from the nearby offices because it's in an odd little section set back off the street and it wasn't very busy for a Friday night. But worth a visit if you like Peruvian food.
