Here is the overall review…I have ordered food from here several times. Tye quality of food and the taste has beef great except for 1 time when I ordered food on a Sunday around 3 or 4 PM. The chicken on my sandwich was not fresh. It was cold and staled, but other than the one occasion, the sandwiches have been consistently excellent. I have tried the waffle cut fries a few times, and I have not been impressed. Also the business hours are very limited even on the weekends. I have attempted to take my family there a few times, and we have never made.Overall I DO recommend Cluck Kitchen. The food is good and if you’re into spicy chicken sandwiches, you’ll enjoy their spicy choices…
Cluck’s fried chicken may have the best “Nashville” fried chicken in OC. I understand the weight of this statement. Here’s the thing. We went to several fried chicken places to compare and Cluck’s is juicy, crispy, flavorful from the inside and outside, and the heat - regardless of how hot you like it, taste good and doesn’t just leave a sting.Other pros: The employees are always great. Plenty of parking. Food doesn’t take too long. The only con is their hours. For a fried chicken place to close at 7pm…everyday of the week, what’s up with that? The only other con (okay, okay, this one is from my end) is we haven’t uploaded pics of the delicious fried chicken. We keep eating it all before we get the pics :(But, go. They are worth it.
On just mild, the spice level build up will make you need a drink. Ordered the Nashville hot chicken and tenders on just mild so my wife and I can enjoy a slight heat with every bite but the heat builds up pretty quickly. The chicken pieces were pretty generous and it is a hefty sandwich. Will definitely come back again to try and not share the higher spice levels.
We each tried the original country fried chicken and while it was edible, it was VERY over fried. It’s a dark brown color as opposed to the photos of light brown. The inside lost juices since it’s over cooked. The ranch and fries were good. Would I eat here again? Probably not.. I can see how it would taste good if they didn’t over fry the food.
Nashville/Hot for my spice lovers. Mango tequila hard drink. They’re on it you’ll be in and out quickly.
Another great chicken place! Delicious sauces, crispy chicken, best sides!
This is the first place I have found in Orange County that makes a hot chicken that is legitimately too hot to handle. And I say that as I sweat through the next 3 tenders. It's fantastic but I'll actually order something a little milder next time. Get Clucked means business.
This was a random find after landing at SNA. My son wanted chicken and chick fil a was closed (it was Sunday), so I googled and found this place. He got the nuggets and I got the Nashville hot chicken tenders. Quality of chicken was great, flavors were really good as well. Living in Nashville, they had a great take on the hot chicken. (And their iced tea was really good as well!)
This place is CLUCKIN GOOD.Had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich (medium), Mac and fries.Medium hot is the nice kinda spicy where you might cry a tear, but because it's so good. The sandwich is also MASSIVE, and this stuff is quality.Mac and the fries aren't innovative in any way, but they don't have to be. They just went to the basics and they did it pretty dang well. For my meal it should be approx 20 bucks but I think it's actually quite worth.
I was a little skeptical about spending $10.00+ for a chicken sandwich. Of course, I had to remind myself of where the restaurant was located - in Irvine, on a main drag near the airport. That being said, the sandwich was damn good. It was big enough to cut in half, and make two meals out of it, and the sandwich was damn tasty. The restaurant is clean, and the menu is simple. Just be aware that when you add "hot" to your food, go conservative. Start milder the first time to establish a baseline. Nothing is worse than having food too spicy to enjoy it, unless you enjoy bathing in sweat!
