Very limited choices on vegetarian items. There is a pasta dish and a rice cake with sweet sauce. The complimentary water has garlic taste to it. When we asked the server is there garlic in the water, he said no and proceed to bring us a new jar of water. However, the water still tastes garlicky. My friends orders some soup noodle dishes, a kimchi fried rice and kimbap. They are OK.
The place is whatever... Customer service sucks, you have to pay right after you order, and being a first timer, I didn't know what to expect, but at least was hoping to get some water while waiting for the food. The large portion for chicken tenders is not worth $30, plus they give you very little sauce for the large order, and it's super sweet. For the kimchi fried rice, they put more onions than kimchi, and the cheese tasted burnt. The only thing I would suggest if you go, don't tip much because they don't really serve you like in other restaurants. You have to get everything yourself, and they will ignore you in anything you need, even to-go boxes.
The portions are HUGE there! When you order, don't think you'll get a single sized portion. It's a family style restaurant, so one order (even it's its small) is enough for two people.
The best thing here is their spicy fish cake kimbap, I can never get enough of them. I also like their rice cake soup, they give so much rice cakes. I haven't dined in but their service when I order to-go is pretty friendly.
I come here to celebrate with jjamppong and beer. I literally start slobbering whenever I think back to this spicy noodle seafood sopa - that cold beer is de rigueur, not optional. Only Ma' and Pa' at the old Shen Wen in Tustin could make a legit, best fresh noodle jjamppong, but these guys add enough MSG or use a pork base to pack that soup with FLAVOR to give them good competition. I'll take the pecsi challenge any day for anyone to find a better spot for this specialty soup.
It’s a good place but when it’s busy, the food taste control is horrible(salty
Best Korean fried chicken for me! We always get the large so we can try two other sauces. They have to put it on the side. We got the chan chan sauce and sweet garlic. We also ordered the kimchi fried rice and the ground beef kimbap. I also tried the chan chan kimbap before. This is my 3rd time here and always a yum! Friendly service too :)
You can never go wrong with Chan Chan. It has a decent variety of Korean dishes from Kimchi fried rice to Korean fried chicken to ddubokki to kimbap. My favorite is the Korean fried chicken, specially the chicken bites with the sweet garlic. The chicken is perfectly fried to a crispy exterior (double fried, I believe) but the inside of the chicken is so juicy.I’m a big fan of their ddubokki, especially the soondae (blood sausage) ddubokki. The pricing might seem steep, but I was able to make the ddubokki into 4 meals. Portion size are fairly priced.
I came here last night with my family and i was extremely pleased with my experience. The food was delicious and service was good. I like their Red Red chicken and spicy pasta so yummy! My dad liked their spicy seafood noodle and we ordered 6 dishes and it was huge portion and so many food was left and we packed food. By the way, it was amazing experience!
Used to hit this spot often when I was back in high school. Miss the food here. Looks like they expanded since then, still delicious!
