The Pickled Mustard Greens are so good, so tasty and so delicious. They are fresh, green, a little sour, crunch, crispy, and just-right sweet. I had a lot of Chinese/Taiwanese Pickled Mustard Greens, literally we call it Sour Greens, and this is one of the best.I hope I had only ordered Pickled Mustard Greens, I will give the restaurant 5-star.On the way from La Jolla to Pasaneda, this is the midway. We went there around 7:40 pm. No one guided us to the seats, that's ok. But no greeting even no wording at all, the owner just gestured us to an area with empty tables. Waited too long, then got the menu, and you can just mark the items on the order sheet. The Wonton Soup, was full of sesame oil smell, which was good. But the stuff had too many vegetables but too little meat. The broth was watery, it was too light to be considered as broth. The egg sheet slices with so many shapes, the chef didn't pay any attention to cutting it.The Steamed Dumpling, 2 pcs were broken of 4 pcs. Half broken? Come on! One was stuck with the steam trap, and once peeled off it caused broken. The Thousand Layer Pancake was too dry to be eaten, and tasteless, that's why I ordered a separate Pickled Mustard Greens to eat with the pancake. And eventually, it became the best thing of the dinner. What a pity of a so-called famous and good Taiwan restaurant.
I often write reviews for good and bad businesses to help other people. This restaurant? Very rude manager. I ordered Dan Dan noodle to go and found they put only sesame paste on top a bowl of noodle. I called and told them they put in the wrong noodle, because dandan noodle is supposed to be red and spicy ( a little or too spicy is subjective). But this one I had has only a spoon of plain sesame paste for $9? The manager told me that's not their problem, that's the way they do it, they can't and wouldn't refund charges on this noodle. Well, I can't decide how you run our business, either don't know what Dan Dan noodle is, or lie about you can't refund any credit card charges, but I at least can share my experience with others here and I won't go back again. $9 for this little bowl of noodle and a spoon of sesame paste?
I’ve been looking for a great Taiwanese restaurant and finally found it!! Great food and service!! Highly recommended!!!
Authentic Taiwanese food I would say. Very tasty and friendly staff.
It’s like a combination of Taiwan and Northern China style cuisine. They are good at noodles and hand crafted pancakes. Of course they do have famous authentic Taiwan street food like deep fried pork cutlet, chicken cutlet and braised pork rice are recommended as well.It won’t take long wait to get a table even though you could see fully seated in the restaurant, probably 15-30 minutes for waiting.Nice food, nice staff and nice dining experience!
Definitely a goto spot when I'm in the areaService was quite and very nice
Great food. The beef broth in the beef broth noodles was delicious. If you like super flavorful foods, you might find the noodles a little bland. The pastry pancake thing had a great texture, perhaps a little heavy on the baking soda. The service was generally good despite the restaurant being obviously very busy and probably short staffed by a few people. If you have any sound sensory sensitivity, I wouldn't go at peak times as there's a lot of noise - customers, phones, and staff.I would go back to try a few more of the items, e.g. breakfast on weekends looks legit.
Absolutely Amazing Authentic Taiwanese Cuisine made just like Auntie Lee cooking at home.
I only come here for thin noodle beef soup and their onion pancake.. it's always good and the Latina service lady is super nice!
The beef in beef noodle soup is not as tender as expected.
