First time here & the food was delicious. The brisket was so tender & delicious but they put raisins in their coleslaw & that's a no no in my book but I just took them out & ate all of it because it was delicious. They have one of my favorite beers Red Stripe so that alone impressed me. One thing that bothered me is they use styrofoam containers & plastic utensils which is not good for the environment. The waitress was very sweet, the music nice & I truly enjoyed my experience. I'm looking forward to going back
I had food delivered and was disappointed overall. Ordered 2 meats and 2 sides which totaled over $33 + tip (and that was with a discount code). At any other BBQ spot, 2/2 combo is more than enough for two people, but not here. Received 2 small ribs and 2 very dry links. All of the bbq sauce couldn't hide the internal dryness of those links. To their credit, the side dishes were good and not super small. Might dine in next time just to give them another chance. If it's better, I'll edit this review.
The brisket is great and the drinks and mood do not disappoint
Good food, good energy, tasty cocktails ?, good music ?
Went to the woods because everybody said the barbecue was good. They opened at 12:00 and I was there at 12:10. I went in to order take out out and I was met outside the restaurant by a very nice hostess. I then was greeted by a young lady by the name of Lisa. She was very rude. I feel that I'm there to order food and you should be nice. I ordered 2 pull pork sandwiches. The Sandwiches were very good. I'm not sure if I'd go back again because of Lisa.
the quality of meat was amazing, however, it was bland. the spare ribs were a little dry even though they were covered in sauce(old trick). I'd assumed sauce would come on the side since I wasn't asked if I wanted my meat dressed or not. it was a good cut of ribs, though. the brisket was cooked decently. I got some nice cuts with a good amount of fat. it also was covered in sauce. to add the sauce was too sweet for me. taste like it came out of a bottle. the baked beans taste like busch's baked beans, no peppers or meat in them. the potato salad tasted like reser's potato salad with the red/green peppers and sweet pickles. blah. the mac and cheese is the only side that tasted homemade and it was ok. I won't visit again.
I ordered brisket corn & BBQ Bean's the brisket was okay nice and tender the corn and beans was okay the price was a little steep for the little bit of brisket I got!! two orders Of brisket corn beans & potato salad & coleslaw $50? I don't think I got good or great value for my money the price you pay is upscale but the food?
The atmosphere was great. Im a bit disappointed with the amount of food I received given the amount of money I spent. 1 pound of rib tips cost over $30 dollars and it barely feeds 3 people. The sides are good and the sauce is pretty tasty.
I finally visited The Wood because of the advertisement on KJLH and wish I hadn't. I ordered ribs, baked beans, potato salad, peach cobbler with sauce on the side. The ribs were dark hard cooked on one side, the beans reminded me of bush's baked beans directly out of the can, the peach cobbler was dry. The only feasible good thing about this meal that I paid over $30 for was the potato salad and I've had better. Will not be patronizing again.
nice atmosphere, friendly staff and good food ?
