I owned a restaurant in the US Virgin Islands it’s hard for me to eat out because I am very tough critic when it comes to cooking West Indian foods. The presentation, customer service and one for me the taste of the food. The red peas rice was dry and grain was hard. The chicken didn’t have enough seasoning by the time I pour the jerk sauce on top that too just had bite of fire but again the taste wasn’t there it fall flat. My mouth wasn’t watering for more. Second the customer service was so so. The cashier couldn’t tell me if the food taste good when I ask to the point she looked annoyed that I asked. Yes I ask because things like this disappoints me. When I cook it’s with love, from my conch in butter sauce, pea soup, my curry chicken, oxtail, saltfish and Ducana, goat water, whelks, fish soup, bake Mac and cheese, sweet potato stuffing, my beef, saltfish Pattie’s and Johnny Cakes much more believe me when I say my customers can feel and taste the love from the order taker to the cook. Yes I am a damn good cook. Tourist and locals alike come back over and over because I offered a full package. I did not get the half the package today. I don’t recommend this Jamaica jerk restaurant.
First time trying this place after driving by for years. The oxtails rice and peas were simply delicious. I ordered the large plate its enough for two people to share.
Absolutely atrocious service. Every. single. time. Today was the worst. I wasn't greeted when I came in. I wasn't asked what I'd like to order. I had to repeat my order four times because the music was blasting. When I came back in 7 minutes to pick up my food I kindly asked for a bag and got ignored completely. When I asked why I was ignored I got shoulder shrugs. This is the second time that I've been there and the rice and peas (beans) tasted old and dry. Portions and prices are fair. Oxtail and curry goat were slightly above average. Steamed veggies are a delight.
First time. I’m a foodie and traveler. I would’ve given a 5, the rice was Tooo salty. I was pleased as for how much oxtails given. Oxtails were tender and barely any fat which is a HUGE PLUS!! Steamed vegetables and plantains were good. The rice almost took away from truly enjoying the meal. The focus for sure was the meat. Wouldn’t mind giving it another shot.
I had the curry chicken, and it was just okay for me. What threw me off was the presentation. The food looked kind of dry and old. I'll try again but next time, I'll order the oxtails.Updated review: I went back for the oxtails, and they were good!
If it was an option I would give them 10 stars. This is officially my new spot! The chef is back there putting every ounce of love in this food, soooo good! The beautiful ladies up front were so nice and have good customer service. We ordered (1) curry shrimp & oxtail combo $23, (1) curry shrimp & curry goat combo, (2) veggie patties, and a large pineapple ginger fresh juice. First off, them rice and beans were ?I could’ve ate the whole pot no lie! Great portions, succulent meat, the coconut really came through with the curry shrimp and I love that. Even the cabbage was so tasty. I hate carrots with a passion but they somehow made me like it because it tasted more like coconut and curry. Oxtails are not spicy and I didn’t know that but so good regardless. I’m not sure if you can adjust the spice level ? I’ll have to ask next time cuz I need more fire. Pineapple ginger was also good I appreciate the fact that you get a punch of ginger at the end unlike other places. I have no complaints whatsoever. I’ll be back soon! I’ve attached pics but we already started eating from and then realized we should’ve took pics first so excuse the half eaten food ?
Been twice. Definitely recommend.They we’re professional.Had curried goat and oxtails. Definitely recommend oxtails and rice and peas. Festival was on point. Pineapple ginger juice was very good. I’m from Jamaica, so I have very high standards. They did well.
Food was excellent!! First time here, tried the goat curry, jerk chicken and steamed veggies.It was not too oily, the meat was tender and seasoning just right! Would recommend and return!! Hit the spot, new jerk spot found!!
I’m a simple American girl and newly venturing out to try different cuisines. Everything I’ve had on their menu has been phenomenal. But if I had to only eat vegetables, I’d eat theirs everyday. They are out the norm delicious.
I Love shrimp and never had Curry Shrimp. I wanted true, authentic flavor that only comes from Jamaica. I was beyond satisfied! That flavor was everything and so was the customer service.
