The cafe has great food, I had the waffle with dates and fruit and it was delicious. All seating is outside and we were there by 930 am and it was already hot. I think it was like 104 that day. They did have fans blowing and there was live music ? while enjoyed our breakfast. A must go to if you are in or close to Palm ? Springs. Highly recommend!
Great outdoor seating for all! Restaurant service is excellent. "The Walk" is enjoyable to take after your meal. Be sure to see it all! Grounds are beautiful. Be sure to go up on top of the hill!

We ate breakfast on the patio. There was live music. I had an omelet, coffee, toast. Others had French toast, date pancake, omelet, orange juice. All very good. We will return. I recommend breakfast here. It is busy. You may have to wait.
We had lunch with some friends and the wait staff at the cafe could not have been nicer. The food was good, the atmosphere was very nice, but the staff was exceptional. I highly recommend this cafe if ya want to have a lunch get together with friends, or if you just want a pleasant relaxing afternoon get away at a cafe with a wonderful ambiance. Just another one of the many hidden gems here in the Coachella Valley.
Food, service and ambience was stellar. Really enjoyed walking through the date garden while we waited for our table. Worth a visit when in the Palm Springs area.
Fantastic food and the most beautiful setting! Not much more to say honestly. Very pleased with the entire experience. We had a wait but walking around the grounds was part of the experience anyway. Definitely get a date shake for dessert! We split it with 5 people and everyone had enough!
Good food good people I mainly go to Shields for the date shakes but have eaten at this cafe pretty good if I do say so myself
Stopped for breakfast after seeing it on TV food show. Confusing entrance. We parked and walked through the arch only to find us walking in a side entrance. Long way around. Sat outside, inside is pretty small. Food was good, found the gift shop and main entrance after eating. typical stuff. Came for their famous Date Shake but at $8 for the only size available we passed. too bad their is no small size. they could offer sample 1 oz cups. Clearly set up for tourists in bus loads who will pay this. Probably not return. Been there , done ti.
We have been visiting Shields for over twenty years, but this was our first visit to the Cafe. We arrived at about 10:00 AM on Sunday morning and had to wait about 20 minutes for a table. I had the Date Pancakes and they were simply the best pancakes I've ever had. Mrs. M had the Belgium Waffle and loved it. Service from Alex was great and the outside setting was superb. We can't wait to come back!
