We heard this restaurant was “the best” local Chinese restaurant in the La Quinta/Indio area…It is NOT! This restaurant is a hole in the wall, not at all like the photos on line. Several small booths/tables make up the front of the space. The dining area had a “dirty” feel to it. As I waited for a phoned-in order, I poked my head into the kitchen. It is a dump. What you see in the dining area, is amplified in the kitchen. As I opened the take-home meal, I suddenly realized that this restaurant failed to deliver! I can say that the Crab Rangoon was dried out and flavourless. The sauce served on the side was it’s only redeeming quality. The Curried Fried Rice with Chicken & Pineapple was dry and flavourless. The chicken was tough and the rice tasted at least a day old. The Kung Po Beef was at best, passable. Honestly, dining at or taking out from Panda Express, a two star chain restaurant was a better experience and that is a stretch. We ate a bit and were left hungry and threw the rest out as it didn’t even qualify for our pooch’s palette. If you are in the area, avoid this dumpster restaurant. Drive down Hwy 111 a few minutes to Canton Bistro in La Quinta. It will satisfy your Asian dining desires in spades.
Great service. Good portions and great food. I asked for a little more spice on the chicken curry and it came out nice and spicy.Highly recommended!
Service was horrible and the chick fried rice had no flavor.
First time and very pleased with the meal and the service! Definitely going back!
Don't let the outside fool you. It is a little small inside but the service and food are very good.
Always delicious , well continue to dine here
We decided to try China Bistro while visiting in Indio due to the good (but old) reviews. It was not a pleasant experience. The pot stickers were rubbery, the General Tsao’s Chicken bore no resemblance to the dish at any other Chinese restaurant we have had it in, and the scallops in the scallops & vegetables dish were simply bad (I spit them out). It was a terrible disappointment!
This is by far one of my favorite Chinese food places in the whole valley. Family owned restaurant that's been around for more years than those I've lived. The padthai is one of my favorite dishes, it is as good as the ones i had Bangkok.
Best Chinese food I've had very good service and great mixed drinks and cold beer's.
Good Food, friendly servers. I will go back.
