I heard about this place many times before but never really have chance to go. This time we decided to give it a try and wanna confirm if they are worth all the compliments from my friends. They open at 11:00am so we make reservation for 11:00am. This place is also under Kei Concept so I would expect their quality should be consistent with other places (The Vox Kitchen, The Alley, Nep/ Gem)10/10 for Food quality. I ordered the 7-set, uni & toro roll, crispy rice tartare. Nothing to say about the quality. Super delicious and taste amazing! Uni is from Santa Barbara. So fresh! Dont forget to order Yuzu Kosho and Truffle Soy sauce. They will make your experience better.9/10 for customer service. One minor thing made me take one point out. I’m allergic to Eel so I ask the waiter to let the chef know since I ordered the set menu and the last roll is unagi (eel). The waiter was so nice and he told the chef immediately. However, the chef forgot and still gave me the unagi roll. I was so full so my husband took it. Just a thing to improve but so far, my overall experience is very good.I highly recommend this place and would come back for sure! Now it would be a must-go if I want rolls :)
This place is one of the better handroll places. Their stuff is pretty good. You can order a la carte and just pick and choose as you go. You can either sit at the 12 seater high rise booth/tables in front of the chefs where they make the drinks and sushi or regular tables. I definitely chose the booth. They also have the omakase sets, which is what I got via 6 pcs vs the 5 pcs set. They also have signature sauces (optional) you can add for extra and they give plenty of it as well. Overall the vibe of this place is nice. A great place for your get togethers with friends or any occasion. When it’s packed it can be packed, so be prepared to wait outside. If you don’t want to drive all the way to LA for some great hand rolls, stop by at this place.
Absolutely delicious, crunchy seaweed, warm rice with the cool fish is a perfect mix.The fish is incredibly good! The service is on point!
We ordered the 7 pc set which was affordable, a little under $40 and delicious. Highly recommend trying out one of their sets! We also ordered their chili garlic edamame, wakame, & oysters which were all so good. The oysters are really fresh here. We ended the meal with an uni toro hand roll and I don't think it was worth the price point. It was okay for $28. Service was amazing. We accidentally dropped one of the hand rolls on the floor and the waitresss kindly offered to replace the hand roll for us. This place is worth checking out, a fun concept, I would recommend putting in a reservation as the restaurant is small and it's not ideal for parties larger than 4.
This restaurant has a cozy atmosphere with very respectful servers. We sat on the bar (which I highly recommend as you should eat the rolls as soon as it’s made) and the chef was also professionally friendly. We got the six roll combo each. Although it was very delicious, it did not fill our stomachs so we had to go get a sandwich after.I highly recommend to go to this place for a date
Food is fabulous, atmosphere is great. What a wonderful team of employees. We highly recommend this restaurant.
Great service, food and drinks were delicious. Fish is fresh, rice was warm and seaweed was crisp.
I came here twice and both time I had an amazing experience. Everything was great, the food, the drinks, and the service. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Definitely recommend!
They pack as many people they can in a little room. If you're still uncomfortable going to crowded places, I would avoid this place. The wasabi sauce is amazing. The food is good. The price in my opinion does not justify the quality, value. I would recommend eating a little before you go, otherwise you may leave hungry. The menu is small so you'll start running out of variety and racking up your bill.
What a fun and novel restaurant concept, with some the best hand rolls I’ve ever had. You will leave feeling very full. I ordered their middle package of six hand rolls, which doesn’t sound like a lot, but I was handing several bites to my husband because I was just getting too full. Next time, I would order four or five rolls instead.I love the experience and presentation as well - each set of hand rolls are delivered for you to enjoy quickly, because the seaweed paper does not stay crisp for long. It’s a fun experience and makes the overall dining experience more enjoyable, since they keep delivering more rolls as you go along. I also like their various sauces and other offerings like their miso soup. It was a very fun and interesting dining experience that I recommend checking out. Service is great, as well.
