Went there with a group. Immediately told no split check and automatic 18% gratuity. One would think the service would be good? Think again. Took a long time to order and get the food out. Food was warm despite hot plate. Had to ask to have my iced tea repeatedly filled as well the tea had a weird taste. The food was ok. Super thick layer of cheese over the refried beans, enchilada was ok, barely any sauce, the taco soggy maybe only two bites before it completely separated. The rice was hard and unremarkable. If I wasn't meeting friends there, I'd not have gone. I've been to la capilla years before I don't remember it being like this or maybe the other places I've been to have stepped up their game.

Had a fairly large group for my daughter's birthday and they couldn't have been more accommodating. Food was authentic and drinks were great. We'll definitely be repeat customers.
Large property that is beautiful and captures the flavor of Mexico-- and delivers it. The food was outstanding (all sodium restrictions aside because, well, it's Mexican food)Excellent and diverse menu choices.You can tell a great Mexican restaurant often from their salsa... excellent to the point of blowing my diet with the warm chips. (Oh the salt but it goes with the territory)Great seafood entrees. I ordered the shrimp with a light sauce that included mushrooms and olives, which added an interesting twist to the usual. It was perfect.My son had a two combo of a shredded beef taco and chili relleno... good Lord. Looked and smelled delicious and he thoroughly enjoyed it I don't do dairy or meat other than fish so I lived vicariously through that plate of what would be a triple bypass for me if I indulged.Both entrées were delicious.I did indulge in their jalapeño skinny margarita... perfect. Fresh lime, not too sweet (no salt of course)My son enjoyed that gorgeous fat slice if cheesecake.What a feast!No negatives at all but I felt sad to discover our server was actually one of the owners of the restaurant who needed to fill in thanks to labor shortages. He was kind, attentive and the food turnaround was very fast.Support your locals and go here rather than some chain. This is the best Mexican food, hospitality and experience that will certainly bring me back. Highly recommend!
Quite possibly the best sit down mexican food in HB. Service and drinks are outstanding, even when the place is packed. Plates of food are huge and delicious. Been coming here for years and every time we visit we're reminded why. Thanks for taking good care of us today and always. Family friendly too! Keep up the great work La Capilla.
WARNINGI just had a bad experience with them.I got a $50 gift certificate for a friend who likes to eat there and I lost it during the Xmas chaos. They won't replace it.They make you pay cash and give you no receipt or do they keep a record.So, make sure you make them give you one. Poor customer service by the manager.If you were to buyrecord.
I like the place but the food it’s not good, I think it’s cooked with lard because the taste. My evening was ruined because I was looking forward to get authentic Mexican food, without lard, also the chips where almost stale or probably they didn’t change the oil or where cooked with lard.Definitely never going back. The michelada was good, the place was nice. But the main reason which is the food it’s not good.I hope they change the way they cook because I even feel back writing this.
Meh. Food not that great. Atmosphere is sub-par, needs some revamping for sure. The outside patio seems nice especially at night since they have this neat fireplace. The waitstaff are amazing, so props to them and the sweet hostess!!! The drinks were good, I had Martinis but they had a ton of Margarita choices that looked delicious! Overall a decent time but the food not worth writing home to mom about. I also recommend they cut half of there menu off, that could be alot of the problem food wise. Their menu is like a novel, way too many things on there, meaning, it's hard to make one thing right and do it well. Get that dictionary of a menu under control, revamp the interior and I'll definitely give it another try!!!
This place is our family go to every week. The food and service is constantly excellent. Kenneth and his staff have made us feel like we are a part of their family, not just customers. You guy freakin' Rock!
