The BBQ was the best....the meat melted in my mouth....I will be going back again...great food along with great service....you can't go wrong
Good flavor but a bit pricey for a lunch. They have no lunch menu so expect to pay close to $20 per person. I got the BBQ pork ribs with the spicy sauce which had good flavor. Cole slaw was decent. Green beans were overcooked.Clean atmosphere and friendly staff.
CHECK YOUR TO GO ORDER!!!I order weekly... last 2 times, skimped on my 2 large fries order (one had 10 fries) and little/single bbq sauce on side for 2lbs of brisket... a really good way to lose my business. Owner/management needs to do better job supervisng. They are losing a regular customer!!!
This review is for their service... Or one particular server, but I can't remember her name. My wife and I were picking up dinner for friends that lived nearby. I placed an online order for The Beast, plus an extra order of cornbread, links and mushrooms. $178 with tax and tip. I tracked the order, which told me it would be 18 minutes. Driving there would take 21 minutes, so I expected it to be ready when I arrived. Looking through the reviews, I see NO responses from the owner or management... So I don't expect that they care at all. When I got there, the server in question told me that there was an issue with the POS system and it didn't print our order, so it hadn't been prepared and would be an additional 15 minutes. I was understandably disappointed as we were starving and our friends were waiting and hungry as well... But I didn't react badly aside from disappointment. I said something like, "oh... The app said it would be 18 and we just drove over 20... Now it's another 15?" She just said sorry about that and walked away to help the only table of customers in the restaurant. I went outside to tell my wife. 7 minutes later, I got a notification from the tracking on the site that my order was ready. I went back in, only to be told by someone else that they were working on my order. 12 minutes later the original server came out with my food. I asked if we could check through it to make sure that everything was correct, since we had just spent nearly $200 and weren't in a position to come back if something was wrong... Also, I had ordered food from them before and my order wasn't correct. When I asked her, she looked offended and said emphatically, "we JUST packed it!" Then when I tried to explain why, she just said, "ok, well if YOU want to check through it, you're more than welcome to." And walked away. Because everything was packed in containers that you couldn't see into, I expected that she would walk through it with me and help me, but no. I decided it would take too long and be to messy for me to go through it all by myself, which is probably what she was thinking as well. I left, trusting that it would be correct. I was also just frustrated and pissed off and didn't want to stand there while she ignored me. We got to our friends' house and sure enough our order was wrong. The meats I chose for The Beast were TriTip, ribs and a half chicken. It also came with 2 1/2 servings (?) of cornbread, but we needed more, so I ordered and paid for 3 extra servings of cornbread. We did NOT receive the 3 side orders of cornbread. We also did not get TriTip. Instead, they gave us brisket. And the sweet tea I ordered might as well have been unsweetened tea with one packet of Splenda. For that kind of money, I expect better service and to get everything I paid for. A server who makes you feel like the restaurant cares about you and wants you to be happy. Maybe that's the reason Hambones was empty on a Saturday night. That said, the food is AMAZING, if not overpriced. It's a shame we won't be going back, as there are other options that are as good, if not better for cheaper and with friendlier service. Sorry it didn't work out, Hambones... But we're breaking up with you. And it's not us, it's you. I just wish I hadn't had to prepay the tip when I placed my order.
This is not good soul food. I didn't have the ribs, brisket or tri tips so I can't vouch for the BBQ. I ordered the 4 piece fried wings with Mac n cheese and hoppin jons. The hoppin jons was nasty and didn't taste like traditional southern style hoppin jons. Tasted like it had salsa and some other spicy sauce in there. The Mac n cheese had large gummy tasty noodled with a glop of cheese thrown on top (clear they didn't season the sauce). The fried chicken wings were large and under cooked. I also had the potato salad which was gross. It had a vinegary taste and was swimming in mayonnaise. The service was poor. Only 2 ladies and my server was missing in action even though there were less than ten people. I had to ask the other server to run my bill since my server didn't check on me. No offer of refill. Just very poor service with mediocre food (only gets 2 stars because at least the cornbread was decent).
The service was very slow. It was only two ladies taking orders, and serving everyone. They had very positive attitudes. The meats were very good. We had brisket, baby back ribs, and beef ribs. The cornbread I was not a fan of it was made with to much flour not enough cornmeal. I wouldn't even call it cornbread. The potato salad was pretty good. The candied yams had to much cinnamon in it and no nutmeg. The place was nice and clean.
Tried this place for the first time today. I ordered the brisket sandwich with sweet potato fries and a banana pudding. The brisket in the sandwich was horrible . Tiny shredded dry pieces. Threw out the sandwich. The fries were just typical fries but that banana pudding was really good. Would only go back for that.
Had the pulled pork sandwich and onion rings. Fairly big sandwich and good portion of onion rings. Went with the spicy BBQ sauce for sandwich and to dip the onion rings in. Would order it again.
Went there for my birthday with family. I had the beef ribs and was very disappointed. There was hardly any meat on the bone. So bad they gave me an extra one. Potato salad had way to much mustard. The peach cobbler was good but over all I won't be spending my money there. Our waitress was good. For really good beef ribs no one beats Newport Rib Company.
OMG, order a No.21 Sampler plate. I'm 6.4 250 and I needed a Doggy bag. The meats So tender it falls off the Bone. You know a good BBQ joint when the BBQ beans are to die for. Now the Baby Back Pork Ribs are Sooooo meaty you'll wanna Slap the Cook """They are Huge...OMG. I almost needed to Carried out on A Stretcher I ate So Much...And I Am Hell-a serious here
