This feels like a posh food mall... I suppose it is. Queue for the food and order and it is served to you. Lots of options of great fresh fish, cooked the way you chose, with the sides you chose. We had Poke bowl, mahi, wahoo, seabass and tuna.... If you are in the area, you have to go.. it is really very good... it also has a great view from the terrace of the beach. The cocktails are the best we had in 14 nights in San Fran, Vegas and LA... made with premium spirits, premium mixers and home made purees, presented well and made with real care. Great place
I’m no stranger to Bear Flag, but this was our first visit to the Huntington Beach location and man did they pick a great spot.The bar and outdoor seating areas have epic views of Huntington Beach and Pier. Grab an IPA or a class of Sauc Blanc and soak it in.Per usual the food didn’t disappoint. It’s definitely a casual vibe and they have poke and ceviche for a quick grab whether you’re heading to the beach or going home to enjoy their fish.We ordered the ahi poke, guac and chips and fish tacos. All delish!This place got it goin on. So make sure you come with a great attitude, enjoy the food and tip the staff!
Came in at 725pm & ordered immediately. At 755pm informed they are closing at 8pm & we could not get a second drink with our food that was still not served. We got our food at 820pm then the manager Josh came over & told us we needed to leave in 20 minutes from the time we got our food. We explained to the manager that we had just received our food. His response was that his staff could not stay late. If we had been informed when we arrived that they were closing at 8 PM we would have gone somewhere else but instead we’re forced to eat our food in 20 minutes. When we left, the staff was still cleaning as we were basically forced out the door. Very poor customer service.
Great ocean views. Nice patio. Upbeat music. My order came out wrong twice, and no one was particularly pleasant or helpful. One out of two tacos was delicious (whitefish). Good draft beer. Note that only indoor seating is at the bar. Otherwise, it's counter service ordering only. I would recommend it for buying take home fish to cook on your own, rather than a place to eat at. Cool concept, but staff could step it up a bit.
A nice relaxed meal here. We enjoyed some good food. My grouper was beautifully done and the sauteed veggies were good. Self-serve style place. Nice area to do some shopping and nice view of the ocean...although the traffic on the road between the restaurant and the ocean was a bit distracting.
We came for drinks and the sunset. We were surprised to see a fish market and some yummy sushi.
The staff, food & flavors were delicious with a breathtaking view.
Hi Guys, your setup of ordering is so confusing. First you have table outside with some paper that you have to check your items, the item you have on the list is not matching what you have on the menu, 10 people outside are asking each other how the order is being placed. A guy comes outside saying I can take orders inside, we go inside the other lady says you have to wait outside. Could you please explain how your ordering is working. Some clear steps please. How about we go to the order place and order one by one and when you finish preparing call us, I am genius.
Poke and chips with a view.. Can’t really beat that one. Bear flag sauce is to die for. I like the Mayo-ey sauce too! I recommend the tuna poke
Great food. Great service. Eating here with a gluten intolerance is easy and so yummy.
