I've been a customer in the previous location and had some good orders there. There meal today did not meet my expectations in the new location, some growing pains apparently. The meat was greasy and lacked flavor, sides were hit or miss. Beans and potat salad OK but Mac n cheese was overcooked and not creamy with cheese. The Cole Slaw was terrible tasted like way too much vinegar.Brisket was some well done end cuts, and ribs were dry, no sauce was provided. The brisket sandwich was soggy with grease and vinegar from the slaw on it, had to eat it with a fork after putting some bbq sauce on the meat - my own Jack Daniel's sauce.

This was my second visit here, this time work a group of 7. Most of us ordered the brisket sandwich, one got the brisket plate.I thought it was just ok. The sandwiches had lots of meat on them but it was barely Luke warm. Mac n cheese was tasty but the noodles were over cooked. It also needed salt & pepper but there was not any on the table. The bbq beans were spicy but very sweet. My coworker did not like them. The collard greens were amazing. She said she’d come back just for them! The potato salad was good but not my favorite.Pleasant atmosphere, friendly service but a bit pricey for just ok food.

Had an unfortunate experience but none that had to do with the taste of the food. Waiter was not educated on the menu and unfortunately led us to a conversation with the owner who was condescending with his syrupy sweet customer service voice while taking away our food trays before a decision was decided on our issue. He spoke down to us like we either didn’t understand what we ordered and mansplained to my bearded husband what a short rib was and then that we couldn’t afford to get what we wanted even though my husband said “‘I don’t care what it costs I’ll pay it” the problem was their menu and the waiter who didn’t know to tell us what we ordered didn’t exist even though the menu didn’t exclude any meats from being a part of the “plate choices” The owner decided what he wanted to do to remedy the situation already made up in his mind and didn’t want to hear what we wanted (which was to buy a whole other plate! But either he was judging us because we aren’t Huntington Harbor type or just is stubborn) His remedy was to take away the three choice meats and replace with a short rib plate which is one rib but he will “add a second for this inconvience” That’s not even CLOSE to what we wanted! We are avid BBQ family even just returned from a Texas trip that week where we checked a few top 50 in Texas BBQ off our list. We like to sample multiple items when trying a new place out…. This place is not run like a Texas BBQ. My tri tip (i only ordered because that did not have brisket that day) was sashimi style thinly cut with un even slices that came pre drizzled with their bbq sauce! (I don’t like to have bbq sauce on every bite so I was bummed) My second choice was Hot Links and I had a massive pile of the cheap meat drenched in BBQ sauce. The choice of sides is super stereotypical with no flair. In Texas they get creative like Green Chile Mac and cheese, Serrano glazed Brussel sprouts, wasabi coleslaw…. I only got to take a bite of the their basic coleslaw before I left crying over the altercation and the way the owner handled our questions about why we received rib tips and not the short ribs we spent 20 minutes getting the waiter to get our order correct. He kept repeating RIB TIPS for my tri tip and rib tips for my husbands desired short ribs (which is the excluded meat) The ambiance was cool, clean place. We had high hopes for this place but sadly can’t support business owners who act the way he did. Rather fire up my smoker and cook for myself then to deal with that drama..

My wife and I were having a weekend away and were craving some BBQ. This place definitely met our expectations and blew them out of the water!Between us, we had the tri tip, brisket, and rib tips, as well as mac n cheese, cornbread, potato salad, and collard greens. Everything was incredibly flavorful, and the serving sizes were more than adequate to allow us to be full (and to have a little bit extra to take home with us). When we arrived, there were only a few patrons present, and we were seated right away. Service was prompt and attentive, and everything was ready for us in a very timely manner. We will definitely return for some delicious barbecue the next time we're here!

Great food and service. I got the pulled pork, cornbread and spicy ranch beans. Wife got the pulled pork sandwich and mac and cheese. Everything had amazing flavor and the service was on point.

If you need that BBQ fix, this is place to go. Got myself the St Louis ribs, collard greens and honey cheese cornbread (one of the best cornbread I've in awhile). The owner is great. He'd greet you like a friend, you haven't seen for a minute...and that's always plus for me. Like that old sayin' family is not about blood, but who has your back. And this place has that.

Tasty food, absolutely worth it. BBQ fries, beef short ribs, tritip, and double baked potato pictured! Friendly and fast service!

This is some legit BBQ which in my opinion is fairly rare in SoCal. Got the St. Louis ribs and they were the best I've had in Cali thus far. Service was great and the owner was extra hospitable. My son had a pulled port sandwich and polished it off quickly...so he brought him another one free of charge. You can tell he really enjoys feeding people and takes pride in his food. You gotta check this place out!

My family and I decided to try for the 1st time today... we arrived early and purchased the family pkg. for $130... we enjoyed EVERYTHING! Also, the owner Mr. S. Beale was very welcoming and approachable...VERY THANKFUL for the service received.

Do yourself a favor and get over to Beale's! Two brothers have done you a huge culinary favor and brought Texas mesquite barbecue to Southern California. Do you like dining on the water with beautiful harbor views? Check. Do you like savory brisket and hearty BBQ beans? Nailed it. Do you enjoy slow smoked ribs meaty and tender with sauce made the old fashioned way? Boom, got it. How about some succulent pulled pork and potato salad? Slap yo' mama good. Finish it off with peach cobbler or banana pudding and you know you've had something special. Plus full bar and the best service around, you're welcome.
