This is a long overdue review as it's been a year since we first visited the place and have been there many times since then. The food is very fresh and gourmet, so naturally, we are very glad to have this gem in our neighborhood. This is a delightful place to take our favorite friends to dinner when they come for a day at the beach. The owner is very friendly as well. We love hanging out at this restaurant after dinner and enjoy their amazing desserts and lattes, by the huge window, while the town is engulfed by the fog on cooler nights. It is just one of our favorite places in the city.
We are so glad we tried this restaurant right by the beach in Hermosa. The entire experience was superb. First, the dishes we ordered were all delicious, with great flavor combinations, great presentation, and a obviously great ingredients. We tried the mushroom pasta, the duck pasta, the braised shortribs and the truffle fondue appetizer. It started with the appetizer - not only was it served with warm house-made bread, but it was very truffly with lots of black truffle chunks. Really gave such a great flavor. The shortribs melted in our mouth, and the home-made pastas have a texture and bite you only expect at a top Italian restaurant. Basing a pasta dish around duck seems simple but we haven't come across this much before. It was hearty and flavorful. Our only regret was that we were too full for dessert - but next time! Best of all, we really liked the ambience and team serving us. It was clear they were happy and supported, and their great service made the meal a joy. Highly recommend a visit!
The Stanton pineapple jalapeño margarita is delicious and only $10 during happy hour! I think I had 7 lol but they are just too good not to! Their oysters are also so delicious and a steal at happy hour. I love a good happy hour and the Stanton in Hermosa Beach always delivers!
I went to the Stanton for the first time a few months ago and it was pretty good. However went in the first week of jan’22 and they had changed their chef. The food was awful. The Thai soup had no salt, the oysters used to come with a really nice green mignonette and that’s been changed for just like carrots or reddish soaked in vinegar. The quality of the oysters themselves were really subpar. The lamb Bolognese was so far away from ‘scratch’. Tasted like store bought noodles and sauce I could have made myself. Better off hitting the Strand House!
The food was absolutely delicious. Pictured below is the oysters and crab fries that we started off with. Fantastic. I also ordered the short ribs which were also great.The staff was very friendly and made us feel welcomed from the start.
My girlfriend and I absolutely love it at this restaurant. The food is soooo good, the atmosphere is amazing and the Staff is the best of all… cannot wait to come back for more. :) :) Definitely a must stop whenever in Hermosa Beach .
Staff was accommodating and patient, even helped set us up with an outdoor seating with view of the Dodgers game. Food was great. Would definitely go back

The food was incredible and the atmosphere was fantastic. We had the Fanny Bay oysters, Yellowtail Crudo, Kaiser Don, Lamb Bolognese, Braised Short Rib, Mango Mousse and the Wild Berry Rolada. Everything was fresh, fantastic to look at and better to eat.
Great food, hearty portions, reasonable price. Good location off the beat
