Nice restaurant close to the Hermosa Beach Pier. Service was good. Ambience very nice inside. But that's where it stops. Mexican food offerings were limited for a Mexican restaurant. I ordered grilled fish with black beans and cilantro rice. I was disappointed in the servings, and the food wasn't very tasty. The black beans were too salty, and the cilantro rice must have been cooked with dried rather than fresh cilantro. The fish was over-cooked and dry. We had been to this restaurant pre-pandemic and enjoyed it very much. That's why we returned. The menu options have changed since our last visit.
We made reservations here, food is really tasty and fresh! Noise is so loud in this restaurant, and service is not good, we waited an hour for my sons food, which was corn and 1 taco!we think they forgot it. The manager did come to our table apologize and make it right, but the waitress could of cared less. It isnât a big restaurant so itâs not like they were super busy. It took them 20 min. To bring us some salt. Food is good and different twist on Mexican food, but isnât a must eat!
Loved the live music but I couldn't hear people talking to me. The waiter informed us that three items that we chose to order were off the menu because they are short staffed and the chef isn't the usual chef and doesn't know what he's doing. Our waiter also informed us that our entrées will take between 30-40mins due to the shortage of staff. He doubled as our bartender due to the staff shortage. Things like this happen, I like to be understanding but then don't call me to confirm my reservation and give me time restrictions on the table and grace periods and fail to inform me of what to expect. The waiter was great and I felt sorry for him. It's an expensive restaurant- how can you expect customers to keep paying those prices when there level of service is not up to scratch.
When we got there at our reserved time they said the wait to get our food would be an. Hour. So we left.
The food is delicious here! Service was great. The ceviche was probably my favorite. I would definitely recommend!
Had a great experience at Dia de Campo restaurant. I dined there during Taco Tuesday and I must day from the beginning to the end, the experience was great. The waitstaff is very friendly and informative. If there was a question that they could not answer in regards to a menu request, the waitstaff deferred to the chef, who honored our request for menu. I found the food to be fresh, savory and delicious. The atmosphere was very laid-back and the decor had an industrial/California style which fit perfectly with the Hermosa Beach vibe. Entrees enjoyed for Taco Tuesday included fresh and clean Oysters ( the oysters had no debris - excellent), fresh Chips/ Gucamole and Black Bean Spicy Salsa, Grilled Shrimp Blackened Tacos, Caritas and Pollo Tacos; to which I found all of the ingredients fresh. The overall experience was great. I also have to mention, the young lady who served as the hostesses/greeter that night was very friendly and came back to check on my party. Great experience Dia de Campo, we shall return.
It was fine, maybe even lower level foodâ¦certainly not great and service was lacking. Bare bones staff.
Nachos were good, so were the margs. Seating was a little tough so we sat on the couch at the front.
Noise level was too high, couldnât hear each other. Food was good. Service was very slow.
We sat at the hightops for a semi business meeting. Service was excellent and the food is great - not you normal American Mexican food. The highlight was when they remembered that during Covid , my family and I had not had such a great experience here and they took this into account on my final check. They obviously take note, remember and take action on any negativity. Bravo!! That's what I call excellent service!
