Tri-tip underwhelming, garlic fries amazing! Sandwich: the meat was thin and overcooked to well done, and so was my partner's burger... still reasonably juicy, but very bland. We forgot to ask for medium, and weren't asked, so your experience might be different. Bread was basically waved over heat instead of toasted.The garlic fries were absolutely delicious, super garlicky and worth ordering on their own.Overall, if it were cheaper, this place would be fine for a quick bite, but it's not worth the gurmet price point.
Always happy to find another burger spot that does it right, a lot of places, particularly chains leave me unimpressed, say for instance, Habit burgers.However, rocket char understands something about hamburgers and that is the construction. You can't just go throw a bunch of meat on some bread and call it a hamburger things have to be sliced the right thickness, arranged in the right way, and placed on the right bun, and the patties have to be cooked the right way in order for it to actually qualify as a hamburger, and charburger nails it! The burgers came hot and fresh, with the lettuce and onion nice and crunchy the way I like it, and the fries piping hot right out of the fryer. More and more I'm liking some of the restaurants in this part of Hayward, and I will definitely be coming back to rocket char.

Nothing to special, definitely not a gourmet burger but the prices are as if they are.. would be cheaper at Carl’s Jr.
1st time visit. Service was OK, they answered my questions kindly and patiently. Food presentation was good it looked appetizing. Only issue was that the steak and cheese fries were obviously prepared at separate times - steak was hot & fresh from grill. Fries were luke-warm and cheese was meltedwhich would be perfect for just cheese fries but the cheese was completely solid, the warm meat could not impact it.
Fries were pretty good. Chocolate shake was good but the mushroom burger was not appetizing at all. The burger tasted like it had been cooked in overused oil. The flavor was disgusting. Maybe it was a one time mishap on their part. I wouldn’t try them again though.
I will start off by saying someone on this platform said that this was the best burger joint in Hayward. Slap your mama cuz it's not even close. First of all it's expensive as Hell 3 people 3 Burgers and Fries $62. My double cheeseburger taste like the Patty came straight out of the freezer to the grill. No flavor. Taste like microwave Burger. The french fries taste like old oil. I'll be going to Giant Burgers from here on out.
Ordered 2bl cheese burger and a BLT both were ?Great and they had shredded lettuce that stuck to the bun with the other condiments making it less sloppy to eat leaving nothing on my shirt. Lol. The BLT needed a bit more bacon but I will ask for extra next time. Overall great and I'll be back.
Previous ownership made much better food. Everything is dry and flavorless now.Way too expensive.
Decent food. Went right before closing and they let us order and told us we had to get it to go, which we were fine with. Would recommend for quick and affordable food that will fill you up.
