While this place looks cool from the outside never judge a book by its cover. We had the Super Nacho Fries, Super Burrito, and a corn quesadilla. Each dish was nastier than the last. Fries were barely cooked and slathered in canned nacho cheese and fake guacamole. Took a couple bites and tossed it. Burrito was full of rice and not much else, but when there was bits of carne asada it had a fishy aftertaste like it was cooked in oil used to fry fish. The corn quesadilla was so soggy that the paper in the basket fused to the quesadilla. To make matters even worse this place has me glued to the toilet typing the review! Also no parking and very expensive for Hayward and poor quality ingredients
I honestly don't understand the rave reviews. This place is mediocre at best. Tried their "super burrito" and it was just meh... nothing special. Honestly Taco Bell left a more memorable experience. And, this burrito was like 4 times the price. Also, their chips may be one of the worst chips I've ever eaten. Stale, oily taste. Threw them out.
Let’s just say Chavez is played out! This is the new spot! Very good and salsa comes included with meals. Place is clean and new. The employees are very nice. The food is so good and the orange sauce is on point!
A staple in Downtown San Jose my whole life, my first time trying the Hayward location and it held up. Got an al pastor and asada super burritos. Great size, filled generously and wrapped well. Meat and ingredients were tasty, and of course I had to get a bottle of their legendary Orange Sauce to go.
Thought I’d try the new location. Still horrible. God their food is bad. Like maybe try putting a little effort into it. The girls at the front are very nice but their chefs and food I guess are just so bad. Thanks for reminding me to never ever come back. Straight whack food. McDonald’s or Dennys is a way better option.
This place has awesome food. Their burritos are filling and delicious, and their chips are crispy and taste fresh. Not to mention, their signature orange sauce makes the food twice as delicious. A great go-to place for lunch.
I never got food poisoning only from this restraunt The flour tortilla looked wierd. The rice looked like it was cooked oil burned clustered pot. But I humbled and proceeded to eat. I threw up for two days straight Just read the review of about the pounds of orange sauce they keep without a lid and flies around it.
Tasted good. But I noticed buckets and buckets of "special sauce" w/o a lid just handing out near the register. Id bet itsnsupposed to be refrigerated. With flies in the main eating area, needless to say that's not a good recipe. I'm surprised people don't get sick here. I won't be eating here anymore. Not after those buckets sitting out. GROSS
Standard local chain restaurant. Having grown up in San Jose, they have a large number of La Victoria spots around. The big draw for most people, not me, is their special orange sauce. I'm not a fan so it's just a standard taqueria fare for me.
Ive gone to this location a few times before but its been a few years; Im glad I made it back. Its just as good as I remember. Thier burritos and quesadillas are my go to items, and I love making mine extra saucy for each bite. This time the food was spicier than I remember but i still loves it.PRO TIP: Due to the pandemic I would recommend having a couple quarters to purchase extra sauce for yourself to add to your burrito.
