The food is good, but the prices have gotten so high...I know, I know everything has sky rocketed, but $17.50 for one chili relleno, beans and salad. I was blown away. I didn't know that when I placed my phone order or I wouldn't have bought it. I seldom post reviews, but that was just so much for so little (and no meat)! Even with the prices of everything going up, the ingredients in this are so minimal and low cost.
Really love this place. The menu is plentiful and all of it is good. Prices are terrific and you get quite a bit for it. I love getting the super famoso burritos and end up stuffed each time.
Very quaint & cozy hole-in-the-wall place. No fajitas. Chips & guacamole were good. Mexican music in the dining area was competing/clashing with some other kind of music from the kitchen.
I’ve been going to the La piñata in SAN LEANDRO for almost 20 years, never disappointed. But I only have 2 words to describe my experience, and the food at this location. NASTY, DISAPPOINTED. I ordered the Chimichanga,(usually) my favorite. it was not deep fried. it was dried up chopped up hard [email protected]& pieces of chicken rolling around in a puffed up tortilla, and , the sour cream tasted spoiled. i will never go to this location again. ,
Wow! I don't understand how people give 5 stars to this place where food is terrible and expensive. In this time there are not restaurants that prepare good food. What a pity.
I’m a fan. The salsa and chips are really good and they give you plenty before you order. The food was very good as well. My wife said their burrito verde was the best vegetarian burrito she had had. I would agree with a previous review that the food is on the bland side but isn’t that why they have hot sauce on the side? Even the coffee I had was good. 3 tacos for $6 on Tuesday will be bringing us back.
Not like it was. Ordered Chili Relleno plate. No flavor and an off taste. My suspicion was confirmed they were previously frozen.
This is the second time I've been here, and I've been to the one in San Leandro once. It doesn't deserve it's 4.1 star rating. The food is bland, mediocre at best. Stereotypical Tex-Mex, but really bland. My tamale was so dry and crumbly I should have been give a spoon to eat it. Have I mentioned how bland the food is? And not from COVID killing my sense of taste and smell. On the plus side, service was excellent, and everyone was very cheerful. It just can't hold a candle to Bobo's Mexican Cantina. ?
I love this little spot in Hayward. Good service and the food was really good. It's best to go when it's not too busy because it can feel crowded pretty easily.
Really good food
