Based on take out experiencePro- Easy and conveniently online ordering- Good food; packed well for take out- Fairly priced lunch- Generous with wasabi and ginger in sushi orders- Nice staffCon- Downtown parking so lucky if you find a spot in front of restaurant but there's plenty of parking around with a small walk
I would rate this restaurant a 4.3 which is very good. We had deep fried softshell crab ($10.95), dragon roll ($12.95), lion king ($13.95), power spider ($15.95), tiger wood($10.95) and triple S ($16.95). All were epic, but power spider had a little too much sauce and fell apart easily and was a bit expensive for the portion. Also, restaurant does not have much seating, but overall, our party of 4 had an enjoyable experience.
Ordered the bento box with teriyaki chicken and tempura. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted sublime. Great service, great food, even plays timeless bops! Great addition to Hayward.
Great sushi for reasonable prices give the pandemic. This is a very small restaurant with two 2 person tables in the front and maybe four or five more 2-4 person tables in the main area. Free parking a block around the corner for the shopping area. Not sure about the quality of their sushi and sashimi but the fish in the rolls tasted delicious. Their sauces are also excellent and they are very generous with them. The fried roll had a lot of rice and not a lot of filling but was still tasty. I'd be willing to come back.
Don't be fooled by the small size or the dark feel from the outside. This is an amazing restaurant with a wide and interesting menu. It is often hard to find zukemono in restaurants these days. Sunomono, yes, but not zukemono (tsukemono). You will find both here. Oshitashi, and other fun delicacies, too. The sashimi servings are very generous. If there is one suggestion I would offer, it would be to warm the miso bowls before putting the soup in, so it arrives piping hot at the table. But that might simply be my personal preference. 10/10 I will keep going back and recommending this little gem in Hayward.
Sushi was good and fresh tasting. The miso soup was smaller than other places I've been to.
We have been ordering the same menus for deliver for a while. Every time, the price increases a few dollars. Yesterday we ordered the same menus as usual and noticed that the price was increased about $10+ per dish from last week. The size of sashimi and the portion of the food were decreased more than half. We are very disappointed. Yesterday we ended up paying about $30 more than usual with a lot smaller sashimi.
New favorite spot downtown! Their sushi is fresh and amazing and their portions are great and hot meals are equally delicious highly recommend!
Better to order to go than dine in. Very small, no space, long wait
Gotta admit. I was surprised.Baked mussels tasted like a Lion King did some very naughty things to a sea critter because my gosh. I'll leave it at that. 5 stars for a reason.Full transparency my favorite sushi spot is down the street so it took me a while to get to this place. I'm so sad I waited so long because the food was freaking delicious. Tried a couple new things like the nigori salmon roe and it was fun flavorful. The pink lady roll was delicious.
