Great service but food wasn't very good. Got an enchilada with red sauce and rice, sadly it was all mediocre. The sauce was bland but tasted too much like tomatoes and the rice was VERY salty to the point that I had to dilute it with sour cream. The enchilada only had chicken, no cheese in it at all and the red salsa tasted more like hot sauce than anything.

So first off, it was packed but we were sat immediately. Instantly were brought chips and salsa which were filled the second we ate everything. Then in no time or order was taken and our food was delivered less than 5 minutes later. Everything was absolutely delicious. The portions are huge and I couldn't believe the quality. Service was also very friendly. Absolutely incredible.

Our relative commented that the general appearance of El Taquito had improved, although it still is not at all fancy and looks like a diner. Two of us ordered Chile Rellenos. They were made with canned chiles instead of the usual fresh chiles you get in a restaurant. They were quite mediocre because of that. The third person received a chicken tostada, which was fine. The guacamole was OK but bland. We were served tortillas with the meal, but without butter. The service was good. We were treated to the sounds of the cook loudly chopping meat next to the grill, and this should have been done in the back kitchen.

I have been coming here since I was a kid. It’s always been great. Great food. Great service. Nice family atmosphere. The green sauce is my favorite.

Would be a better rating but me and my mom didn’t receive the best service. We were rushed and we were the only people in the to go line and there was only like 1 or 2 people inside to eat there(they just opened). Good food tho I love the mole sauce on the super wet burrito. The carne asada is sliced to perfection. It isn’t diced and sometimes overcooked like most Mexican restaurants, it’s thinly sliced along the grain and cooked barley past medium well so it was very moist???. Not enough guacamole and sour cream(as seen in photo). We requested for extra inside the burrito and they acknowledged the request but didn’t put it in. Fasholly the go to next time I’m in the area but to go out my way to be served? Definitely a no.

A really great combination between an old school Mexican Family restaurant and a stand selling street tacos, this working class place in Hayward, served me some tacos that were HUGE with meat, and where as I ordered three different tacos, I didn't know that each Taco Order came with Two tacos!Notes: The Carne Asada has that taste like some expert Grandma or Taquero Callejero cooked it. The Carnitas were moist and juicy like I like them, and the chorizo was piled HIGH in the Chorizo order. The tables all have onion, Chile, and two salsas one Verde and one Roja, in a four-way metal tray, as do many old school restaurants especially in Southern California. The spicy Salsa Roja had hints of mint, and oregano, which made it unique, and their flan, was fair, and I think had a little chocolate in it.NOTE: order light! they don't mess around here! Try one order of tacos and then see if you are still hungry, don't be Tragon like me!Great people, really nice, and the Patrona there (the queen bee) reminded me of some beautiful Mexican movie queen I remember from when I was a kid in Veracruz, going to the movies near the Zocalo, but I can't remember her name. This place is real, down to earth food, for real people and I recommend it when you want to get real bang for your buck. Taquito Rocks! Next time I'll try something new.

Came for tacos, and am very satisfied. These may be larger than what you’re used to, but by no means are they any less delicious. The menu has all of the usual suspects (carne asada, lengua, pastor, carnitas, etc). All are good choices - juicy, flavorful, balanced. Of course, topped with their salsa as well. I did not have a chance to try the rest of their menu, but I think this visit marks the first of many more to come.

Excellent family restaurant with amazing food and service. I'm just here for the night, visiting from Spokane, and gave it a try. I ordered the red enchiladas and they are super good. Judging by the clientele, it is a neighborhood hangout that is very well-attended for a Sunday night. Very deserving of five stars!

I love the food. Good prices & Generous portions. The employees are efficient. They always get my order correct whether in person or phone order.

There's a reason this place has been open for almost 50 years... the food is amazing and always has been. Well maintained good service, great food. Family owned and they know their stuff!
