This place is a hidden gem! For the prices and their dishes, it is worth so much to come here than any elevated sushi restaurants. The chirashi bowl was like an upscale poke bowl. The cut of the sashimi is huge! Two people could share it! I saw other people ordered the sushi roll and omg, it was like 5x bigger than any normal size roll. Can’t wait to come back here!
Well it has been over 10 years since I have reviewed this place. I was hesitant at first to come due to hearing that the ownership has changed. Glad to say that I was able to come by, try the food and say that the food is still fresh, and the experience is still great. When we went by around 11:45 on a Monday, me and my friend was able to get a table right away. Luckily we went earlier as the tables started to fill up. There was a lady server who was patient and very nice, and always came by to refill our green tea.FoodDecided to try what I ordered a long time ago, the beef teriyaki combo and the Charashi Bowl. We were served right away a bowl of miso soup and green tea.The Beef Sashimi Combo was still awesome, and we were able to switch out the Albacore for more of the yellow tail and salmon. The beef was still great, always good to have some hot food too, because too much sashimi could be overwhelming. The Charashi bowl is STILL A MUST. Just packed with goodness, even sweet shrimp and scallop, even great to share with someone.Again I was happy to be able to revisit this placed and discover not much of the food has changed. Will definitely try to visit again if I am around the area! Until next time!
The Chirashi bowl is amazing! The best ever. Deep fried soft shell crab also wonderful, Hugh portion and very fresh crab, very crispy. And their oyster in a delicious sauce, will come back!
We have been going here for 20 years plus, new owner, food are good, great services. Need to make reservation !
High quality seafood, so fresh. Every time I came here, ordered the Chirashi Bowl, huge size, tasted so good.
I've been coming here for over 30 years ownerships has changed since, but the menu and premium quality food has not been comprised. Vinny the head sushi chief is one of the best, he knows how to treat you with class and will deliver the best sushi ? experience intown. The portions are generously cut and the presentation is marvelous! You will not regret the Akasaka experience. Vinny I will be coming tonight miss you my friend.
I love this place the food is very good and fresh!! I would definitely come back
The freshest sushi hands down. Come early as this places gets very busy during dinner time.
Very fresh sushi. Friendly and hospitable service. Very very reasonable prices. We ordered the chawanushi, deep fried soft shell crab, Clark avenue roll, mussels, yellowtail collar, and the chirashi bowl. Fun fact: they have an organic kumquat tree in the parking lot then you can grab a bunch of kumquats from, for free.
This is a hidden gem for sushi. I had been frequenting this place since I was in high school (Go LAHS Conquerors!) but I recently moved away in the last 3 years or so. So I’m going to try it out again today. I hear Hisako or Ben are no longer working there. I would like to see them and will miss them if they are no longer there. After the new owner took over I came a few times before leaving the area and it was still good. We’ll see how it goes today. ????
