I just left free birds when I was pulling out of the driveway guy who warms up the tortillas was sort of pointing me out too it’s cool it’s coworker find out my van and talking and pulling out my van phone to make it obvious that he was talking about me very strange experience made me feel like a celebrity do you want to feel like a celebrity go to Freebirds
Was on a trip along 101 and decided to stop for a trip down memory lane. I went to college in San Diego and my good friends were at ucsb and we used to love this place. One of the few places that hasn't changed or lowered quality in 20+ years.
Free birds is my all time favorite burritos place. I usually get a quesarito and it's always consistently great!!!
Okay so, it is with great great reluctance that I give a Freebirds a 2 star review.Freebirds is like a Chipotle but Texas based. Over all I would give every Freebirds a 5 star and every Chipotle a 3 star. This specific Freebirds was such a huge disappointment for me because I drove very much out of my way for the Freebirds experience. The hallmark of freebirds for me is the queso, I know we are in California not Texas but not having it was a huge disappointment. This Freebirds is at the end of Frat row and designed to be a college fast-food stop so the quality is much lower than you see at any of the Texas based restaurants. The layout is even honed toward the college customer base and the options are much more limited. If I was the owner of this Freebirds I would be upset that the store has lost touch with being the best burrito shop in town and then I would take a flight down to Houston, or Austin and try out a Freebirds there and figure out how to fix this place. Anyone that ever comes to this restaurant expecting to get Freebirds is going to be disappointed that your store even calls itself that. While the food itself was good and I would have probably rated you a 4 of 5 if you were named anything else I expected so much more because you're pretending to be something you're not. Why own a Franchise and not be a real Franchise in terms of quality and experience? If you ever do fix this location ill be back but honestly its cheaper for me to fly to Texas than to drive to you and I know that I would be happier flying there for the real experience than visiting you again.
Best burritos and nachos I have ever had. Love even taking it back home and reheating since I’m from out of town. Their jalapeños are fresh! Burritos are a size of a baby Hahah
Pretty good basic food close to ucsb. Food is served chipotle-style where you choose your main item (nachos, burritos, etc) and then go down the line picking your toppings, and then pay.
BOMB BOMB BOMB BOMB EVERYTHING:) SO BOMB THERES DAYS WE CANT EVEN GET ANY CAUSE THE LINE IS OUT DA DOOR:( IM JUST 5 MINUTES AWAY I WONT GIVE UP ON GETTING MA BURRITOS:) THE WORKERS ARE REALLY NICE.
Everyone was craving how good it was. It the same as chipotle and other burrito food. Limited seating outside.
Get the carne asada nachos. You can share with up to 2 people. Paying extra for guacamole is worth it!
Without exaggeration, I’ve tried more than 100 different Mexican restaurants all over the California, and this place by far is the most delicious, healthy and affordable place. Used to come here regularly during my college time.
