I would not recommend going with Original Kabob Factory for a catering event, especially if you are doing a wedding. The phrase "over promise and under deliver" is a key theme in how our overall event went. After our wedding and before writing this review I did send Nick, the owner, a detailed email to discuss the below issues outlined in this review and received no response. What went wrong:>Two of your servers were late - this meant that the assistant cook was helping our coordinator set up linen, plates, etc.>Once the late servers arrived they started working on the appetizers, but even with our coordinator's help the appetizers could not get out fast enough (we also received this feedback from our guests).>Additionally, one of the servers was off on her phone for 30 min when everyone was hustling to get the food out.>Our food service was late, not brought out in a timely manner or replenished. Additionally, plates that were brought out had mountains of rice and barely any meat (this, in particular, was disappointing as it was important for us to have food on the tables and replenished in a timely manner, and incredibly disheartening knowing how much was left over at the end of the night). We essentially paid for a ton of food that was never served. I am Armenian and one of the main reasons we selected a caterer like Original Kabob Factory is because it was very important that the tables not be left bare and food be replenished throughout the evening which did not happen.>Another issue was the cake cutting - the cake was cut but not distributed to guests. My mother had to step in and pass out the cake.>The servers were also intoxicated, which is unprofessional and guests witnessed them taking shots with guests. That is unacceptable (they were not hired to party, but to perform a service which they failed to do).>Guests had to ask the servers on multiple occasions for additional food to be brought out, which was either done with a long delay or not done at all.>One of our guests asked one of the lady servers for a glass of Rose, in which she poured a glass of Red wine into White wine and presented it to the guest. This is horrifying and incredibly unprofessional. This leaves a bad taste in our mouths as these are just nuggets of information received and we honestly can’t imagine what else happened that night that was untold.I do want to highlight that there was one challenge that caterer faced. The fridge we rented did not work and I appreciate the effort Nick put forth to help the food stay cool. However, were surprised that he never shared with us post-wedding that the fridge didn’t work so that we can recoup costs for something that wasn’t functional - luckily our planner shared this with us. The service provided was not at all what we expected or what Nick assured us we’d be getting, and we’re highly disappointed with the overall experience.Nick is a kind person and easy going. However, there were red flags along the way that should have been indicators - throughout the planning process he was unresponsive and we often had to follow-up, waiting weeks on end to even hear back on simple things or provide us with items we needed from him to execute other aspects of our wedding with vendors. Last thing I will say is when Nick was engaging with our rental company we identified that they had the wrong date for our wedding so I'll give him brownie points for helping uncover that.
The restaurant pockets catering order tips that are intended for drivers. If you ordering catering and don't get it for hours, blame the employees pocketing the drivers tips. No drivers is gonna take these orders going 10+ miles when the tips are being stolen.
Where do I begin. COMPLETE DISAPPOINTMENT!!!! Order over $100 worth of food and they didn't even give me 40$ food. Order crazy amount of beef and lamb chops and they didn't give me those two very costly plates. When I called instead of offering a refund he said they will give me. And also I was told 25 minutes and the whole process was well over 50 minutes. NEVER EVER I WILL BUY FOOD FROM THIS UNEDUCATED ESTABLISHMENT. INSTEAD OF HIRING EXPERINECED PEOPLE THEY HIRE BUNCH OF KIDS THAT DONT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING. OH AND ALSO IM PUTTING A VERY NICE REVIEW ON YELP SO YALL BETTER BE SURE PEOPLE WILL SEE IT BECAUSE IM VERY ACTIVE ON YELP.
Great food. Tasty salads and sauces. Tried the beef louleh and the pork kebabs very tasty. Pork was tender and not dried out. Great service was ready on time after calling in the order. Great tasting huumus, tabouleh, eggplant salad and babaganoush. Staff friendly and helpful. Will be going back for more....
I have to agree with the rest of new comments. This place Use to have the Best customer service, and always got the orders rights. Now the workers seem like there annoyed, they mess up orders, the Rib-eye steaks also aren’t as thick and don’t taste the same. This place must be under new owners or management. It is way different now. Also BRING BACK SWEETBREADS.
This restaurant is either under new management or on a death-spiral.Meats were incredibly salty and as DRY as the bones they came off of. It would be nice if the dipping sauces had arrived to counter the dryness, but alas... none arrived, even though they are supposed to come with a combo order (they used to be included regardless). I ordered the Tutou Pickles, received Tabouleh. It's ok though because the meats were as salty as the pickles I originally wanted. Onions and rice tasted funny... sides still tasted good. I used to be a regular at this place. What a shame.
This wasn't the first time ordering from here, but unfortunately will be the last, the quality went to ZERO, we ordered for a group of 6 and they were all DISSATISFIED with the quality and the portion "literally KIDS MEAL SIZE", seemed like the meat and chicken were awfully over barbecued without even getting marinated - no taste, even the quality of the appetizers went to ZERO ... couldn't finish our plates ... Management needs to figure out what's happening, since the last few months reviews clearly shows a negative trend and they need to STEP up immediately, SOMETHING is WRONG ... You raised your prices to match other "Well Known Restaurants" However, you need to raise your quality and portion as well to match them ! its not about the market price. its about QUALITY and SATISFIED Customers !! Hoping you will read this and take actions.
I was so looking forward to this meal but it was pretty disappointing.Firstly, it says there is dine-in but that equates to a couple of tables outside, right in front of the stop lights on a main road so you'd get loads of lovely exhaust fumes if you ate out there. Good job my hotel is only 5 minutes away and I decided to drive tonight!I ordered a lamb combo and a pound of beef but I guess there was a misunderstanding and I received a beef combo instead! So much rice and so little meat in the beef combo! The lamb chops were cooked well but there was no taste until I applied my own salt to bring out the flavor in them.Overall, a big disappointment to what looked so promising!
I used to get food from this place but they keep disappointing me. It’s been for the millionth of time I pick up my order and see something is missing. Like I cant open and check my order when I pick it up . Am I right? I called them, but instead of helping me they put me on hold for several minutes, so I got tired and hung up. It’s not about the money, it’s about the disappointment when you are hungry and your beef kabab is literally rare, completely red inside. I wont probably order for some time until the service gets better.
OKF was my go to spot when I wanted a good meal quick. Unfortunately, their protein portion size has shrunk. They used to offer a combo with 2 different kebabs, usually a full lb of meat. Now it's a single kebab. If there was an option to add another kebab without doing a la carte that'd be great. A la carte gives you a full lb, but that's way too much to add on to a combo.Overall the food is delicious & have zero complaints with the food itself. The quality is always fantastic.
