Always top notch food and service. The bartender named Kay, gets 10 stars - (and not because HIS name is the same as mine).I have been here a dozen times; every visit a“Maserati”
Delicious fish main course. Staff attentive. Nice selection of beer on tap, cozy friendly atmosphere. My wife's fish pasta was just OK. Will definitely return. And boss said good night before he went home which was a lovely touch of appreciation.
We went to eat here today and the guy at the door was very rude when said we did have our vaccine cards on us. According to their Google About page only masks are required to get in.
The Beef Stew Special paired with a delicious pinot noir was soooo perfect for a cold winter night!
Our friends invited us to their hidden jewel of a restaurant in Montrose. They’ve been going here for years with their two daughters but this time was a couples date night. Everything we ordered was delicious. The drinks are legit old timey cocktails from Zombies (all iterations) to Apple Martinis. All their ‘house’ liquors are actually top-shelf. Highly suggest their house burger!
Great food and cocktails. Great atmosphere.
Great tiki drinks with a bygone time atmosphere!
What a Great place! Excellent food and service! - It's become my favorite place to dine in L.A. Having grown-up in La Crescenta/Montrose area; I now frequent this Special place when visiting my home town! It's the best of how dining-out use to be! Cheers!
Forget Colorado Boulevard. Go to Montrose and have lunch or dinner at John Sparr Tavern, on Ocean View. The drinks are great, the wine list is good, and the food is excellently prepared. Today's New England clam chowder was phenomenal, the crab cakes were excellent, and the shrimp cocktail could have been on the cover of "Gourmet," when it existed. Worth not only a stop, but a detour.
Just moved here permanently and this place is amazing. Great food, nice staff and the best drinks. My guy and I love it. Has also a beautiful interior and music.
