Good service and food, tables are semi-private screened off booths so you can eat in relative privacy (08/2022).The lamb stew with herbs is delicious, and table is served fresh bread with butter and cream. The Kachapuri on grill is essentially a very long croissant dough with mozzarella cheese inside.
My wife wanted to eat some Georgian food we decided to stop here,, she had the chikmeruli , we also had the imeruli kachapuri, I forgot what I ordered I just remember everything was so delicious, this place is also offering Armenian dishes. We will be back for more. I recommend this place give it a shot
We ordered food for a party of 40 people from the restaurant. When we came to picking up we decided that we needed more food. Nelly was genuinely kind and helped us bulk up our order. All the ladies working there were fantastic with big smiles!! Great service! Looking forward to ordering from here again!
Missed Georgian food a lot, and finally had chance to try it in USA. Absolutely recommended ? Armenian food is delicious ?
The food was delicious and the service was excellent. I would highly recommend this place. Don’t let the negative reviews stop you from enjoying the best Georgian cuisine.
Amazing food great Armenian/Georgian Cusine. I don't normally give reviews but this resturaunt deserves it. They make itinsanely quick. Employees and staff always are super friendly. All the tabels are very clean there is music playing from the TV's great pictures to look at. Everything is great at Havlabar. If you want to find a place to eat this would be it. Please visit Havlabar!!!
Apr 21st, 2022 Absolutely not worth it !I ordered 6 khinkalis and a khachapuri. Khinkalis were OK, nothing extraordinary except one was undercooked, the meat was partially cold. No idea how this might’ve happened. The thing they called khachapuri was inedible, burnt on both sides (top and bottom), and the cheese was anything but suluguni. It looked and tasted like cheep Mexican cheese. Also the size of my khachapuri was really small, 5-6 inches max. For $12 you may have twice bigger pizza (Napoli style at 800 Degrees). I could not finish even a slice and have left it behind. If you have a nostalgia for Soviet times (shameless crooks and lack of service), this place will bring back all those memories. It’s like they have invented a time machine. According to their menu 6 khinkalis are $15, and one layer cheese khachapuri is $12. I was charged $36,69.The worst part is that patrons are aloud to smoke inside. I regret coming here
It was my second attempt at going to the restaurant. The first time, hostess sat me at a table and managed to make me wait for 30 minutes. I left without anyone asking me what I wanted to order. Place reeked of cigarette smell.Second attempt: I finally managed to order Khinkali. The good: Came for Khinkali which were really good. Service is fine, the two waiters were likeable. The bad: they decided to charge more than the price shown on the menu, claiming they had increased their prices in the system but not on their menu. LOLOLOL, shady! The bad: people smoke inside, get ready to launder your clothes after the leave the establishment.
Didn't taste like real georgian cuisine.
We wanted to try this place while visiting the area based on positive reviews. Unfortunately our experience was not as positive. We were greeted rather coolly, feeling somewhat like interlopers at a private club. Our waitress barely spoke English. I asked for a glass of white wine and some water; I got red wine and no water. I tried to order the sturgeon but was told it was not available; ended up ordering trout. My wife ordered an Armenian chicken dish. Fifteen minutes later the waitress showed up to say it wasn't available, but suggested roasted chicken. After 45 minutes, several other diners who had arrived after us had already gotten their food. Since we had a concert to get to, I had to get up to find our waitress to ask about our food. I was assured it was almost ready; it was about another 10 minutes before it arrived. My trout was OK, but vegetables were overcooked. The chicken was rather plain with French fries, no veggies or ketchup given or offered. The waitress asked if we wanted to-go boxes, but then never brought any. One of the more bizarre dining experiences I've had lately.
