3 piece fried chicken - 5 ?!Side of pineapple slaw - 5 ?!Side of mac and cheese- 5 ?!Dinah's Chicken is an old school place near the southern end of Glendale. They have a fun slogan on their menu stating that if their founder had been in the navy they would have been an admiral.The chicken was fantastic. I am a big believer in as fresh from the kitchen as I can get it and this absolutely applies to Dinah's. The chicken was some of the freshest fried chicken I've ever had and it really helps elevate the dining experience.The pineapple slaw was tasty and had a nice but subtle sweet flavor. The mac and cheese was good. I saw many diners order the waffles and I think I might have missed out. A return trip to try the chicken and waffle seems very likely.I was craving fried chicken when I went and they really delivered.
We got this for takeout when we went to paperback brewing a block up the way. The chicken was so moist and flavorful, even with takeout the skin and breading was still crispy. We got the 5 piece with sides of fries and mac & cheese with 2 biscuits. Chicken was a tad salty but the seasoning was good otherwise, the fries were pretty lackluster, unseasoned and limp. I would saw the biscuits weren't truly biscuits but more rolls, they didn't flake apart like a biscuit does but you could tell they used a lot of butter, its like a biscuit and a roll had a baby, good but not a biscuit. Overall very delicious and would stop by again to try more chicken and other sides!
I wanted to love this place. But it's just ok. The chicken is the best part. The sides could be improved on. I love that it's old and has been around a long time. If they improved a bit this place would be awesome.
Had such a great time at this location. The service was great, fried chicken totally fresh, moist and very good. Pineapple coleslaw definitely a must have for sure. Pie for desert…cherry, apple and lemon meringue were our choices to go and we found them to be very flavorful, great taste and melt in your mouth crust. Will certainly be back for the other menu favorites…waffles, corn on the cob, biscuits. Definitely a winner Dinah’s Chicken…I see you?
This might be my favorite fried chicken of all time. But can we also talk about the pies? Tried the coconut cream and the pecan and both were delicious. Never would’ve thought a fried chicken shop would have such fantastic pies! Dinah’s is where I’m placing my pie orders from now on!
I personally love the fish. It's very tasty with a perfect crispy coating on it. The fruit mellow side dish is divine (it's ambrosia) and the service is always pleasant with a smile.
:edit: for those saying this is the best chicken you ain't never had no good fried chicken in your life !First time trying Dinah's all together and probably won't return!I've only tried the food here because of the good reviews. I was mistaken on trusting the reviews. Everyone says the chicken is the best ? probably the worst chicken I've tasted ever! The crust and skin was the worst part of it but some of my pieces were not fully cooked. The skin had an awful taste as well as the skin very rubbery like.The gravy saved the mashed potatoesThe sides in general are very basicMac and cheese probably the best choice of all1st time and I'm not satisfied not even a bitThis can't be the true original recipe ??
Best chicken ever, hands down. My parents were coming to Dinah's before I was born and I can remember we've ALWAYS come back because it's delicious. Now I bring my kids and they love it, too.

Ahhhh Dinah's such a great place that has all the comfort food to put you in a food. I order the same thing 2 piece fried chicken with 2 sides. The macaroni salad and mashed potatoes are a knock out.
