Home cooked meals, chicken fried steak is my favorite and go to dish. Very mom and pop cafe. My wife loves their egg benedict and hot chocolate. Every time we come to Gilroy, about twice a month, we always stop here first before we start our day.
This place is a nice breakfast spot. Service was fast, very friendly staff. Even the locals enjoying their breakfast were friendly. You get a lot for what you pay. On our way to Gilroy Gardens and we stopped by to get breakfast. Will defenetly come back when I am in the area. There was no wait at all.
Came here on Sunday 03/13/2022 with my dad, sister and two young boys. Arrived at about 1240 hoping that the breakfast rush would have dimmed but that was not the case as there was about 5 parties ahead of us. I stood at the front for quite a few minutes before I was attended by the hostess. She looked like she was running multiple jobs so I dared not to bother her. She finally took my name down and said the wait was about 15 minutes. About 30 minutes later we were called in and sat down. We were quickly served our drinks and the coffee was fairly watered down. Our food order did not arrive for about another 40 minutes later. I ordered the French toast combo and the bread was a bit stiff and nothing to brag about. What annoyed me the most is that we were seated in the corner close to the kitchen. At one point it smelled heavily like rotten egg that my kids started complaining. I figured they were throwing away some dirty water in the kitchen area. It was past two and we were still eating our food, my dad asked for more decaf coffee but the waitress told her that they had no more because they were now closed?????! I am pretty sure we were still full paying customers and I did not know that depending on what time you decide to show up, you will get a certain type of service. It was over $70 for the five of us and no one really ordered anything extra ordinary. I hope this was just the one time experience but I will not be returning to this location.
They were very friendly. I went there because I remembered how good the bacon was last time. And this time I ordered some to go. my poached eggs were perfect thanks. I will definitely go back there when I am in town. The hours are 7 a.m. to 1p.m. thanks again.

Husband ordered corned beef and rash and rated it VERY good. My turkey sandwich with a side of very fresh fruit (in lieu of fries) was excellent. Service is friendly and efficient and meal is delivered hot. Very clean. It's our stopping off place on trips on 101 South.
Very rude management. Waited 40 mins to be seated and they crossed your name off the list unless your a regular. Even though they knew the error they continued to seat the people rhat came in after you down at a table. Poor customer service.

Love this place! Service is outstanding! We have been to many restaurants in our travels and have never had Service as wonderful as you get here! This used to be my grandfather's favorite restaurant. So, we all came in 1 last time for breakfast in his honor.
This place as always shined as a local diner. It a 4 min drive off the 101 . If you're in Gilroy close to Monterey Road and hungry , Sandy's is the place to go.
