We had a light lunch -- i.e., large bowls of garlic soup -- outstanding! Otherwise, nothing special about this place but if one loves garlic, then you'll love Garlic City Cafe!

The staff was amazing. I went because it always smells so good walking past Garlic City Cafe. Sadly I didn't know that they used pineapple as a garnish of a French dip and I am super allergic to pineapple and shellfish. I'm fairly certain the french fries were cooked in the same fryer as shell fish because I had an allergic reaction and booked at home as fast as possible. They did remake my French dip. It was my first and last time there due to my severe food allergies of pineapple and shellfish. My bad for not asking first. I didn't see anything pineapple on the lunch menu but I didn't read the whole menu. I also did not clarify if there was a specific fire just for seafood and that is the reason it is 4 stars.

The portion sizes were generous. The quality of each sandwich we ordered was nice. I suggest paying the extra $1.50 for garlic fries as your side dish. The fried garlic chips and chives they use heightened the flavor. I also liked how the fries weren't overly greasy and stayed extra crispy. Pricing is very fair per dish. Highly recommend coming here if you're looking for a place to eat in Gilroy with garlic fries.

Oh my goodness! I looked up best rated restaurants in Gilroy to find something that peaked my interest. This Garlic City Cafe looked good and the menu looked promising. It was a little difficult to find among the small shops and other restaurants in the area but once I found it I was seated immediately and handed a menu. The young server was kind and pleasant. I started with the crab cakes with the sauce on the side. It was delicious and hot but not spicy. I ordered the chicken marsala as my entrée and chose soup to go with it. The soup they had was shrimp bisque. The soup had such great flavor that I cleaned the bowl with the bread and butter they brought to the table. It looked great and once I cut up my potatoes and chicken and tasted the sauce I was done for. The only thing left on my plate were the mushrooms and that's only because I don't like the texture of them in anything. I didn't try their garlic ice cream but saw several people who did and seemed to enjoy it. The place was small and quaint but roomy and handicapped accessible/friendly. As I'm writing this I'm tasting all the flavors again in my brain. It's just so good! If you're ever in or near Gilroy don't hesitate to stop at this little place for a delicious bite to eat. I highly recommend. 10/10

Their meals were all right. Customer service was decent and the waiter was attentive. The meals were decent but their garlic soup was plain and somewhat salty. Now the Shrimp Alfredo pasta and wraps were okay. Not the best I have tasted, but overall good meal.

Food was very delicious, staff was very helpful, and the restaurant was extremely bright and clean. I highly recommend this stop for a flavourful taste of the Mediterranean.

They close at 7pm we walked in at 6:15. I was afraid they would slap food together to get us out by closing, but they didn't rush us out. The service was very friendly and efficient. The food was on point. Ingredients were fresh and the sauces fantastic. We had the bruschetta appetizer, it had plenty of garlic . Also had the beet salad, what made this salad great was the dressing. Finished with the chicken piccata, again the sauce was really good, the chicken was tender, and the vegetables were fresh.

A lot of rare and tasty omplets (I really liked Tuscan), inexpensive, relatively unbusy for a popular touristy spot.

I found this place on TA. It was the only place I considered based on the garlic in the name and garlic in the reviews. It was really great! The place is small and very sweet. There was a large party of about 18 people when we arrived, but there was a table to the side that accommodated us perfectly. Based on reviews, we each ordered a bowl of garlic soup and it did not disappoint! We split an eggplant, chicken and cheese panini sandwich with a side of pasta salad and it was good, Based on a photo in the restaurant, I am pretty sure we were waited on by the owner, who was very sweet and unpretentious. The whole downtown area was “as cute as a button”. We were not able to spend any time there other than to eat, but if you go, allot some time to go shopping.

Food was great as was the service. I had the Cajun chicken sandwich, salad and an orange/mango smoothie. Sandwich had great flavor, salad had what seemed to be delicious homemade croutons and the blue cheese dressing was flavorful without being overpowering. The smoothie was refreshing and blended perfectly. I would highly recommend it all!
