After these ghastly ga..darn you know what we've all been threw, years.. Was not ever thinking of, or eating like I just did! Wish I could'a took some pics 4-ya, but ya kno how eht goez!! Familia got the chocolate chip panquekis combo, French toast combo and veggie burger wit onion rings... And yes!! We all dipped on each others...Come on now!!Not getting all religious righ nawz, but I do believe in the All Mighty who is forgiving; My doctor, after consuming and partaking of all this delicious sumptuousness??? Not so much.Come on now...This meal righ herrr...Just about death row, last meal worthy...The food alone n'ough said... Service also above and beyond spectacular. Cause look like a Mexican tyne estupe...I got there almost closing time. Even asked to take it to go, but they insisted that I stay and eat there.In short, like many, many, and once again many had a bit of a rough stretch... during and post, excuse my language this hijo de la [email protected] pendej'mic.So in closing.. As snoop do'dub'g so famously said in one of his lyrics... And again excuse my language... Can we get a mother???? moment of silence for this small chronic break! Cooks are still burning the eggs.Chef... A hotter fry pan does not equate to a faster cooking time. It only burns the outside and leaves the inside raw or undercooked.--------------------------------------------------Fast friendly service, good prices, large portions, but the cooks burn and over cook everything. They seriously need some cooking courses! Otherwise, I'd rate this place top notch for a family run business.
**update: I have been back every weekend since I first came. I have tried their pancakes which are the best I've ever had, French toast, burrito, the biscuit and gravy and they are all wonderful. Every time I visit the staff is incredibly friendly & always refill your coffee just on time! As a business owner myself, this is one of the reasons I keep on coming back. The food and staff are the best. This is truly a hidden gem! **I've been living in Placentia my whole life and have never been here!I finally had the best breakfast burrito in the area! I couldn't even stop eating to take a picture until I was almost done with it. I got the meats breakfast burrito (I think that was the name) and french toast breakfast. We devoured both.Everything was in my to go bag. The phone and pick up service was great and employees were friendly even after being there during the rush hour.Finally a breakfast that didn't end in disappointment. Can't wait to try their other items.
TLDR: Come here and try them out. Great food with affordable prices. Open for breakfast and lunch. Don't sleep on this place.It is getting more difficult to find places to eat that are both affordable and taste great. Shorty'z definitely has these covered.I was looking for a spot to fill my craving for a pancake breakfast that wasn't one of the major chains. Those places are crowded, overpriced, and only mediocre at the best of times.The staff at Shorty'z were friendly and service was quick. While that is definitely a bonus, it isn't the part that I care about most at restaurants.It is really easy to mess up any of the parts of this meal, but Shorty'z delivered where it counted. Their pancakes were light and fluffy with a great flavor on their own. Cooked perfectly through and not the least bit tough.
Large portions. Food was basic comfort food. I had a veggie omelette with hash browns and sourdough toast. Indoor or outdoor seating. The best part was the humorous artwork on the walls! Truly appreciated the mirror replaced by "You look great!" cartoon.
Clean and fresh food all time. We love to get lunch there. My daughter and my wife loved to be there all days ,Very nice Greek restaurant.
Want to support local businesses and skip the long wait at the chain breakfast restaurants?! You NEED to go to Shorty'z! I almost want to keep this place a secret, but it's too good to hold out! The menu is simple and has just what you need. I love going here on the weekends with the family when I'm craving for breakfast that I'm just too lazy to make. Everything on their menu, including the non-breakfast items are DE-LI-CI-OUS!!! Come try for yourself! You won't be disappointed

This is 100% my go to breakfast spot. The food is hot and delicious every time. The staff are kind and helpful and full of smiles. I recently visited for lunch and shared a burger with my four-year-old and we were mesmerized by the mountain of french fries we were given. I’ve never had a meal here that I did not love. Small town charm and deliciousness.
It was my first time there. Got the pancake combo. Pancakes were perfect! Eggs were great! The bacon was a tad too crispy for me, but I suspect it would have been perfect for most people. Coffee was also spot-on! All the food on my plate also looked good! Great presentation for a little diner. Thank you Shorty'z!
