The ambiance of this place is great. Feels like a comfortable family restaurant with a dark tone to it. Guacamole was delicious. Overall food was great. The patio is nice and big but can use a couple more TVs though. Drinks were great and beer was cold. Servers were polite and courteous. Bill was fair and not like a Javier’s bill. The only thing I found needed some work was the steak. It was a steak and for a Mexican restaurant I was looking for a well seasoned flank steak and again this is personal liking. I will definitely be coming back for lunch.
Exciting and fun atmosphere
If I could give 0 stars I would. Service was horrible. Hostess seated us at a bar that wasn’t even open. When we finally got seated during 3pm when it’s fairly empty, it took 15 min to get a drink. 5 min to get a food menu. We decided to leave & it literally took 20 min to get our checks & that was after I asked a completely different bartender for my card back. The server was extremely rude about it when she did return our cards. Absolutely Ridiculous as we were there to spend money & enjoy ourselves. Never again.
The tacos here are amazing! We were all blown away by how great they tasted. I had a shrimp taco. It was packed full of tasty shrimp. The other taco I had was Al Pastor. It had so much flavor and was packed full of meat.
This place is alright... what's not alright is charging $18 for a cheese quesadilla. Likewise, carne asada tacos were ok, but over $20 (if you want rice and beans) for two tacos with crummy tortillas that fell apart almost immediately and bland rice and beans. Was it bad food? Not at all, but again it also wasn't nearly worth the $22 the plate cost.The food here is OK, the service is good, the ambiance is great, but the prices are about 50% too high for what it is and after this last trip my family and I agreed we don't think we will be coming back, it is just not worth it. And that doesn't mean I have a problem with spending money on food in general, but not for something so basic and fundamental.
Alberto was our wonderful server tonight. We started off with an order if Cantons Rolls and Casadires Añejo shots. We were a party of 6 occupying the window booth. My entree tonight was 2 gourmet tacos,; grilled fish, filet mignon, and of course Al Pastor.
Sorry I don't have a photo... My husband and I went there for the Taco Tuesday...which is all night my.. oh my gosh...they were so... delicious... I had the small salad with tequila line ranch dressing this salad was big enough for two and I loved the dressing.We had their Cadillac Margarita, my husband regular flavor and me raspberry. They we so very good and had a punch too...if you know what I mean..The chips and salsa was great too..and service...that was A+... I think after 9pm it does have a cover charge....But we went early and all was fantastic...we can't thank our waitresses that evening and the server who kept delivered chips and salsa...We can't wait to go again and we will soon...l can't wait. Charges for ice water. I asked to get a water cup but was promptlygreeted with two water bottles. I asked to just get two cups of ice water asice water is legally to be served at all establishments and was told that'due to (some strange reason) they could not give ice cups with water" Idemanded an ice cup with water and was given as said and refunded mymoney. This place only cares about making sales and not the well-being ofits customers. We all know that it's a law to give ice waters free of charge.Change your visions and values. This is the last resort as all the otherplaces are known to roofie customers. Do better Matador, you're our lasthope. Take care of your customers. If you don't take care of yourcustomers how will they happily come back and boost your economy?Think about that.
Yooooo ?? My husband and I were strolling the downtown area and this spot had a really nice menu. Sat in right when they opened, our server was awesome, gorgeous on the inside, the food was freaking amazing, cocktails are handmade with fresh ingredients, large variety of beer on tap..definitely coming back again!
Everything was delicious me and friends were having a good time drinking a delicious , cucumber margarita ,and mojito mmm the green enchiladas omg so delicious very good flavor . thanks matador cantina for sure I'll be back soon.
