I love this kind of food.Is a real Mexican food restaurant. Is a home made food.I recommend.Yuo need to wait around 25 to 30 minutes for the food to be served, but is still good.
It's just like home. Hand made tortilla burrito with enough if the right ingredients. The steak in the burrito was delish. The people there were really nice and the food was good. I've read some of the other reviews and wonder if some know that this is Oaxacan food. Slightly different from what we're given in most of California. Most of California serves over done and Americanized "Mexican" food. This is home cooking no doubt.
Service is good but the food was not, the meat was all fat impossible to chew and the cheese on the stuffed chile was awful, it was really bad. Never come here again.
food is good, but service is very poor waited 40min for them to just take my order. Very unorganized
The food is very good but I ordered tacos and got taquitos. Very limited seating inside. Too expensive for a place you have to eat outside imo.
The food was good, the coffee was excellent! They were very busy. I want to try their mole amarillo with hongos next time.
This place is a little hidden in a very small plaza. You will need slow down a lot to find this place. The place is clean and very Ma&Pa. I can see many locals coming in & out. My friend and I came here for dinner. It wasn't too busy and we both ordered black mole & tamale. I was excited to try it because I saw Mark Weins had tried authentic Black Mole in Oaxaca and it looked amazing. The mole is very dark and it tasted very rich & tasty. I added a little salsa on top and it was even better. The tamale wasn't bad. The corn and meat inside was fresh and moist. We also tried the Chilacayota drink and it was refreshing & not too sweet. They also serve hand made tortillas which is always a bonus.
The Enchiladas Campesinas were slathered in their mild, flavorful tomatillo sauce. Being raised in SoCali and used to our style of food, these flavors were surprising. The sides were filling, but the plate didn't leave you with any "heavy" feeling. Cool small place with a laid back local feel. The pic of my half demolished plate shows how much I enjoyed it. The plate was empty at the end of the meal.
A favorite place for my cousins who visit from Mexico. Food was good and the mole was yummy
Very unsanitary service, we waited for a very long time to get seats. There were flies everywhere, couldn’t even eat because the flies were on us. Prices went up. I think it is not worth the service provided today. From $50 to $85 dollars not worth it plus the service was bad they forget about people. While waiting a lady complained about her tamale not tasting good. Why is the owner not checking the restraunt like always does.
