Happened to stumble upon this place as my husband and I were driving by. From the outside it doesn’t look as much but once you enter the vibe is so cute! Very cute Japanese cherry blossoms, the lighting was perfect for a date night. Great, solid sushi + beer. Really recommend the beef gyoza and the baked salmon rolls. So good! The only thing was the service, our server wasn’t so friendly, a little dry and not so attentive. Service really plays a role into the whole experience of dining in a restaurant. Other servers for others tables were great so it was more of just that one employee. Overall, it was a good experience and we would be back with a different server, a solid 8/10.
We prefer the "fusion sushi " to the Japanese traditional and the name of the restaurant gave it away. Out of the 7 rolls we ordered all were outstanding in presentation and flavor but the Samurai stood out to all of us with the complex flavors. NOTE: some of the type on the menu is below 6pt and is unreadable by the average person with unaided vision. That said our server and the chefs were far better than expected for a strip mall sushi store. I'd post pictures but we were 3/4 of the way through before we thought of itAll dishes arrived in amazingly good order which I'd VERY RARE in my experience
This place has some amazing and unique rolls. I don't think there was even one we didn't like when we tried them.The edamame was good too, but just a warning on the "spicy" one, it's not really spicy and they sometimes drench it in the sauce which makes it gross and inedible unfortunately...but it's not every time.The fish is so fresh and the salmon has been "to die for" every time we have gone. They even also have fresh oysters!!Emily has been our waitress almost every time and she is so nice, patient with my kids, and smiles so much... which makes us actually want to talk to her and have fun when we go. I really think she is amazing at her job and has a great memory. She remembers you when you come and makes you feel welcome...oh, and she remembers your orders or how you like certain stuff as well. Amazing!So this place is definitely a place to try! Then you will go back again and again to try the different rolls. Enjoy!
I read the reviews and was maybe a little hesitant on what some posted.BUT WOW, WERE SOME WRONG. The place is nice and dim AND THE SUSHI WAS AMAZING..everything was great...I recommend to anyone who would like sushi ? as is in the area. Another positive thing was staff was great and attentive...???
The atmosphere is awesome. It's wood paneled and warmly lit. The food was good and the wait staff was friendly. It has an unassuming exterior and it's stark contrast when you walk in, especially if you've never been there before.
I've ordered from this place many times, through DoorDash but today I actually went in & I was surprisingly satisfied! Loved the atmosphere; the lighting, the decor, the service. Even love the buy 1, get 1 50% off rolls! I will definitely be going back & bringing others to experience the same thing I did!
Yum yum!!! Service and food were both excellent. I’m posting late so this was on 1/13/22. I had so much sushi that I don’t remember all the names but what I remember being my favorite was the Cali-Land roll and the Tornado roll(forgot to take a picture of this one:( )
Authentic, fresh, delicious sushi (Japanese - style), excellent service, nice ambience, and overall great experience (and I'm a sushi connoisseur).Only problem was the 2020's annoying pop music. "Rock-n" implies rock! We were hoping to hear some classic rock music with great drum beat. (That would get patrons to stay longer & order more drinks.) Perhaps, after we mentioned the issue to our sushi chef, Spike, and a few other personnel, they will get the message! (We did get them to play Hotel California pretty loud, and we could see how positively all the customers responded! They LOVED it!)
Really more Korean style Japanese food. Very greasy. No steamed dumpling but fried only. Over cooked and greasy. Months ago this place was really good. Has deteriorated to barely average.
This was my 1st time and WOW! The food is amazing! I am very happy with my visit. Also our waitress was really nice and kept checking on us. I will definitely be coming back here.
