Taqueria Don Pepe is always packed.For good reason. The prices here are relatively cheap, the portion sizes are gigantic, the service is fast and friendly and the food itself is delicious.There's a self-served toppings bar with diced whit onion, diced cilantro, cut lime, Jalapenos, Pico de Gallo, and a variety of salsas and sauces.There is seating both inside and outside, though for the summer, the inside seating real estate is quite frenetic.There's almost 2,000 reviews at the time of this review and they've managed to keep a 4.5 avg star rating.Whenever you see a long line at a restaurant, you can be pretty confident that it's there for a reason.Stop doing yourself a disfavor and drop in for a taco..or three!
4.5/5 rating. Tried the shrimp burrito, fish taco chorizo burrito. Probably inflation but the actual piece of fish was a bit small. Absolutely smothered w sauce. The shrimp burrito was mainly rice w some shrimp. Potatoes in the chorizo burrito was slightly burnt. Fast service and thoughtful. Burritos about $10 and tacos under $5. Flavor is good, quantity is plentiful.
Went for my fiancé’s birthday split a shrimp burrito and shrimp cocktail, shared a Modelo. Food is always perfection at this location & the workers bust their butts especially when it’s busy on Sunday. Just wish it was closer to my house.
What great fish tacos, takes me back to MEXICO, WOW!!! VERY DELICIOUS... ? WE WERE CELEBRATING, MY BEST FRIEND ANDIE'S BIRTHDAY!!! Anyone that goes, would enjoy the food, and the BEER. They add a shrimp and some chili, lime wedge, & sprinkled the beer with salt, WOW, WOW!!!
The food is usually good. For exception of one time, I ordered a shrimp Burrito and it appeared the shrimp had gone bad. It had an awful smell like rotten and it was slimy the cook did reimburse me. Left a bad taste literally and metaphorically.
The Campechana Cocktail is soooo good! The lengua tacos are my favorite. The lengua is always tender and comes with beans inside. Shrimp tacos are super good too....rice, cheese n avocado with large juicy shrimp. One of my favorite taco places to go. Buen provecho
Long time favorite of many locals. Also means it can be very busy. But they are fast. You can call your order in for pick up. People love their Shrimp Cocktail. I always go for the Asada burrito. Fresh, good meat, good prices, not too greasy. And open salsa bar.
I've been going to this location for many years. It may not look the nicest but the food is phenomenal. They have delicious meats to choose from and you can put them on any item pretty much. My absolute favorite is their Chicken Torta. They do get very busy, so sometimes there is a long line but the wait is usually no more than 10mins after you've ordered. I always recommend this place to people when they're in the mood for tacos. Give it a try of you haven't already.
I love Don Pepe's! Best menudo in town, no hominy or garbanzos or whatever beans. The base flavor is great, but add as much chili, onions, oregano etc they give you, and you've got the perfect menudo for your taste.The tripas burrito is awesome, my wife likes the tostada de ceviche,Both locations are good, I like Blackstone, because I autopilot my way there every Saturday morning for 2 orders of Menudo.
OMG the Carne asada loaded burrito is to die for. From the hot off the grill taste on the Carne to the perfect mixture of beans to rice plus guacamole exploding in your mouth. Your taste buds will be jumping around in excitement. Don't forget to add a michelada completo to compliment this delicious meal. Thank me later......#MCAZ
