I travel for work all over the US and around the world. Through all of my travels I found that Tamari is the world’s best Japanese sushi and whiskey bar. It has an amazing owner and staff committed to the craft and client experience. They source the best fish from around the world and serve it with passionate and imagination. If you eat anywhere in Fresno it’s gotta be here!
A perfect spot for ALL the things. Great location, friendly staff and delicious appetizers. The drinks were perfectly poured. Looking forward to going again.
My new favorite restaurant ?Above-and-beyond customer service from start to finish. Our waitress was so attentive even though it was very busy and packed. Food came out fast and all of it was absolutely exquisite! The quality is remarkable! We sat at the sushi bar and all the guys making sushi were just so kind and awesome! My friend and I love this place now. It was our 1st time and we will definitely be coming back. The music was on point. The atmosphere was like having a big dinner party with a bunch of friends. So welcoming and friendly. We couldn't stop raving about every part of it. Everyone needs to come try this place out!!!?
Hanabi - crispy rice topped with spicy tuna, jalapeños, & cilantro - was delicious! Highly recommend.

The food, service and the bartender were fantastic. The bathrooms were disgusting and looked like they had not been cleaned in a week.

Food is real good, sushi is fresh. Whiskey menu is top notch with reasonable prices for pours. They even have 3/4 ounce options. Their Old Fashioned is like candy and so easy to drink. Also, the service was great also.
Me and my wife got to sneak away for a date night and Chose this place for drinks and appetizers.. let me start off a great choice.. we got the veggie roll Spicy, gyoza and shrimp and veggie tempura and we paired it with a Hawaiian ocean and I got the Tokyo Manhattan and was amazing the drink was so smooth I would have sat and drink much more.. great choice thanks again we will be back
Food was good. I love the scallops. Service was kinda ehh because they only had one big party but they be having us wait like the whole restaurant was full. I think the servers need to familiarize with the menu because she gave us false info. She was very nice though.
