Service good, food good. They have a rude sign at the entrance that basically says eat and get out. That turned us off so much that we felt unwelcomed. I express my dislike with the hostess she kept saying it's protocol. I informed manager and he said he would pass it on, but... He just tried to justify it. Sal's used to be a premier restaurant. No more! Sal's you need to value the customer more. Without us customers you have nothing. Step it up!

Our family has been sharing meals and memories at Sal’s for many years. We can count on great food, great service, and not feeling rushed…even when they are very busy. When we have guests in town, we typically bring them for a meal at Sals during their stay. Everyone can find something they enjoy, and if they just don’t know what to pick, we suggest the “Fancy” burrito with chili verde and it never disappoints!

Worst place ever if I could give it a zero star I would! I order a fajita plate nothing like the picture it literally only had 5 small pieces of meat half of a grilled onion and half of a tomato it was more beans than anything the salsa was just El pato tomato salsa its way over price as well. I do not recommend at all!!

So I've decided to up date my review from a 3 to a 4 star. I usually just order take out because this place is just right across the street from my house. But tonight we decided to go in and have dinner. I was honestly a little put off by the ambiance I feel like it's a little minimum for a place that's been around since 1942 or what ever the signed outside said but the food is pretty good. I had the chili riano and enchilana plate and it was pretty good but just a heads up they make there chili rianos with bell pepper, it was still pretty good. My son had the kids bean and cheese burrito and my wife got tacos. A pretty basic meal but everyone liked there food :) service was great and parking was good to. I'd proably still give this place 4 stars even if they stepped up there decor lol.

Sal's has a good variety of food and an excellent salsa but the to go order business is nothing to write home about. They are late with their estimates every single time and, during my last visit, three other people were complaining about the tardiness and even getting the food items wrong. I go there for their enchilada trays but my visits are getting fewer in between as I don't have an extra 20-30 minutes to wait on top of the original wait time which can be as much as an hour and a half for pick up.

We discovered Sal's a few months ago and it has become a regular stop for us when we are in the area. The staff are always super friendly and attentive. Last night we had to be somewhere, so they made sure to get us seated right away and got the food and drinks out lickety split! I ordered the veggie taco salad and hubby had the soft tacos. We also had margaritas on the rocks with salt. Such a delight! Try Sal's for the authentic and delicious food, stay for the great service and friendly atmosphere.

Excellent been out of state for 8 months an as good as ever

I drove 20 minutes across Fresno due to having an hour left til close according to Google. Upon arrival, the open sign was still on and there were several tables still full. I was informed they had closed 30 minutes early. Wouldn't let me make togo order and didn't even ask what it was I wanted to order. Maybe they stop cooking chips and salsa and drinks early too.

We went on a Friday night, height of their dinner rush. They told us 20 minutes, it was actually less than that. Our busboy? was sweating from working his tush off, server was apologetic for the wait (what wait?) and the food was on point as usual. On a side note...this restaurant holds a special place in my heart. My first time meeting my now-husband, we ate lunch here after a meet and greet at Starbucks. 10 years later we are still madly in love. ❤❤

First time dining here for dinner. The food is fantastic! The flavors are amazing and the service is professional. Took a while for the food to be served as I think they might have been short staffed. It must be a popular restaurant because it was very busy. I love the chips and salsa. Many places don’t get this right. However, Sal’s chips and salsa has what you would expect good chips and salsa to taste like. I ordered the carnitas plate. It was served with beans and rice, delicious avocado ? dip, and your choice of corn or flour tortillas.
