Awful with awful customer service. My burrito came with twist ties inside. And the owner acts like he can’t do anything about it. You’re the owner you idiot. You can do anything to make it right for your customers. Anyway, I would not recommend eating here unless you want to chew swallow and bleed internally from ingesting pieces of METAL that end up in your food. I hope this location gets shut down.
We’ve been coming here semi regularly for a couple years. Always a great option especially for their happy hour. Sunday and Monday happy hour is all day!! Their food is pretty good, I’m a big fan of flavorful Spanish rice and theirs is delicious! Their chips and salsa are really good! I can’t get enough of the spicy mango margarita. Drinks are always delicious. The owner is a very friendly guy. You often see him making rounds around the restaurant talking to people. We will keep coming back for the friendly atmosphere, great food and delicious drinks!
The food is above average, the drinks are good and Papi’s has a good selection of beer. Yesterday 5/20/22 around 1615 my wife and I arrived to a mostly empty restaurant, our plan. Upon arrival we were greeted at the reception area, 2 minute wait while the two girls were discussing there weekend plans. They greet us with courtesy and inform us there is a 5 minute wait. Okay, 90% of the table were empty.?? The two girls continue discussing there weekend plans. After 5 minutes I asked about being seated, I was informed we had to wait 5 more minutes. Guess they were punishing me for asking. After 10 minutes my wife and I were seated. I can only attribute there behavior as “Ageism” me being 3 weeks shy of 65 because other 20-30 something’s were seated promptly. So I guess the bottom line is Papi’s is trying to keep the old out and cater to the young. This is sad but obvious.
Not a very good experience. We visited the restaurant on Ave 12 & Hwy 41 today. I ordered the chicken soup and my husband had the Taco salad. The chicken soup was tasteless unlike any chicken soup I have ever had. There were no vegetables only rice and chopped tomato with very little shredded chicken and avocado as a garnish. It tasted like warm water with rice. The Taco salad was nice appearance. But also no taste. It was a bit pricier than any other Mexican grill and they had no coffee. Would not recommend, not worth the money. Someone needs to show the cook how Mexican chicken soup is made.
Authentic to the max. Delicious food all the way. The simple tortilla and heartwarming salsa is to die for. The staff takes pride in their job and are so inviting and eager to recommend options. Restrooms are immaculate…. Tremendous plus for me. Beautiful artwork through out the establishment. The crowed that frequents also contribute to the great experience. I
Heard about poppies through a friend, and stopped in for the all-day happy hour on Sunday. We rode our bikes across town 9 miles, it wasn't bad at all. The happy hour specials are great, great beer specials micheladas specials spicy Coronas with the shrimp. We tried the wings and the Pollo tacos. But we will be back to try the state quesadilla and others! We sat at the bar and still got great service even though they were very busy! Thanks again! ???
Dined in 4/1/22 around 8:30pm. Place was busy, but the wait wasn’t too bad, got seated in 15 minutes. After we were seated, waited 10-15 minutes watching servers go by and none of them attended to us until I shouted across to the possible manager of the place. He was very apologetic and told us he knew we were there but assumed we had been waited on. We didn’t have drinks or chips on the table, so couldn’t hurt to ask, maybe? We ordered mixed drinks and he did take them off the tab to make up for the wait. Mango margarita was similar to a kids slushy. Michelada was only okay. Food was subpar. The chips and salsa were good. This was our first time here, and there’s no reason to come back.
I have followed this young man from his other Mexican Restaurants Fajita Fiesta for example......and will be sure to bring him more patrons/customers.......Fresno needs more Restaurants like this one. Those with EXCELLENT FOOD AND A FRIENDLY STAFF....KEEP UP THE GOOD JOBRAUL!
Friday night. It's busy. 8:30ish. The Hostess indifferent. We were seated at a dirty table outside. The people seated after us were seated at a dirty table inside. It's been about 10 min. No water, no offer to take a drink order. Husband had to go inside to get a cocktail...still no waitress. We'll see how this plays out... Update: Manager came by and apologized for the less than good service, our Server too. That was nice. Mgr comped my drink too. We'll give it one more try later this Spring. The Hostess needs to step up her game and all that staff behind the Counter with her could be clearing all the messy tables...js
Had some street tacos and drinks here. I like their vibe. They have a great variety of alcohol. Their mixed drinks are prime level. The chips and salsa are delicious. Service is fantastic. They offer heaters in outdoor area. I do recommend getting a reservation, Can get busy at times.
